I will create this environment through an engaging curriculum, personable interaction, topic orientated discussions, and group work. Since my license will include an endorsement in Special Education my classroom management will include a focus on flexibility defined as the ability to respond to the moods, emotions and the capabilities of my students on any given day. Meeting the needs of my students, based on their individual need, will be a crucial part of my classroom management structure. I will accomplishment this by promoting self-management and self-efficacy in my students to the best of their abilities. Creating a predictable, consistent, and success-oriented environment will promote self-management in my students by creating, basic, daily routines with limited changes (Savage & Savage, 2010).
I see this as a way to encourage open dialogue between students and administration. Circulation does convey a purpose to students as well as staff. I believe the principal must create that climate for learning with openness and development of trust. Through this reflective process I realize that the principal did do the majority of the paper work after the students had departed from school. This commitment models the expectations for the staff and proves that I, as a principal, must strive to create a school culture that has a positive influence on life and learning in my school.
We create a calm and purposeful ethos within our school. A Mission Statement- is a statement that defines the way your school approaches education. The mission statement allows parents to see the approach the school takes and can use this as guidance. It helps parents decide if what is offer matches their views on educational goals. In my school will strive to produce happy, healthy, confident and successful learners.
Victoria DiGiovanni The majority of high schools are now requiring a certain amount of community service hours in order to graduate. Most students see this as a chore, but just how beneficial is it? Community service improves the student’s character, exposes the student to new interests, and benefits the student’s future. Mandatory community service enhances these advantages. A student’s participation in various activities throughout the community opens the door to not only a better society, but also an improvement in the student’s morality and character.
The programs offered at the honors college will allow me to achieve this goal of giving back to the community in a way that generates a long-lasting impact. As a part of the honors college, I would like to get involved in helping on and off campus. By organizing and being a part of service learning events, I will gain leadership and communication skills that will be used forever. The experiences I will gain from being a part of the honors college will impact me for the rest of my life. I plan on using these skills and experiences to impact others in a positive way.
Community Service is an important activity every person should embrace as they are growing up. Doing community service, a person will find themself and be exposed to the lifestyles of other people, which also tends to make the volunteer more aware of the needs of the less fortunate. Volunteering also contributes to the result of more teenagers being more grateful for everything they have and thus they give more. This Sophomore year I wish I had done more community service than i had done and I regret not following through with the opportunities I was given. Growing up I was taught to give more than I receive.
Many think that community involvement is just something you are forced to do to graduate. They participate in community involvement because they have to, but I do it because I want to. Community involvement is a way of giving back to community. I like making people feel as though they matter, and it gives me a warm feeling at the end of the day because I know I have made a difference. Community involvement is very important.
Violence, obesity, children’s education, life expectancy, mental illness, teen births, trust- all are major problems for societies across the globe, and according to Wilkinson and Pickett, can be attributed to inequality. In their examination of developed countries, they found that inequality, rather than average income, is a far better indicator of wellbeing. Furthermore, the authors posited that nearly all problems that are more prevalent at the bottom of social hierarchies (many are aforementioned) are more common in unequal societies. They suggest that despite a nation’s apparent affluence, wealthy yet unequal nations are nonetheless “social failures” (18). Wilkinson and Pickett explore two of the most common assumptions about the social gradient that shows people at the bottom of social hierarchies suffer more problems- circumstances and individual tendencies.
From the people who plan the events and lead the people under them to what they are doing, to the people working for them to make their community better. It makes it so much better mentally when it goes perfectly and everyone including the people who work are happy. You learn so many life skills from what you do when you work to make your community a better place. My sophomore year of high school. I went to the longest community service event I have ever experienced.
My high school does a mandatory community service every year and I can honestly say it brings out the good in people. I support community service a hundred percent. You will notice a difference in the kids that serve and the ones that don't. I hope all schools keep mandating community
