Went on to college he kept continuing to study music and attended Julliard to study classical piano, where got a music scholarship. After his graduation, Foxx spent his two years time from 1986 to 1988 studying at the United States International University which currently known as Alliant International University His love to music at last resulted in his first solo album "Peep This" released in 1994 before he in 1999 sang the theme song for his movie, "Any Given Sunday." Music aside, Foxx who was so talented in telling jokes that his teacher at the second grade used him as a reward, had built his career up only by becoming a stand up comedian. He got his first onstage performance in 1989 when a girl friend of his challenged him to do so. And so Foxx went to the Comedy Club and took an 'androgynous' name because he learned that women got preference for mike time on open stage nights.
Alan Menken was born July 22 1949, in New Rochelle; New York. Alan grew up as a child of the 60’s, dreaming of a career as a singer-songwriter. He was interested in music from an early age and studied both piano and violin in high school. Menken enrolled at New York University in 1967 where, for a time, he took premed courses in order to please his parents. His true passion won out, however, and Menken decided to pursue a musical career.
His older brothers played musical instruments, and sister sang in duets. His family was religious and attended a Baptist church where Buddy Holly sang. When Buddy was five, he won a singing contest and won five dollars. At age eleven Buddy began taking piano lessons, but switched to the steel guitar, after twenty lessons, he switched to acoustic guitar. In 1951 Buddy met Bob Montgomery, a seventh-grader at Hutchinson Jr. High, who also played guitar and sang.
Pete Seeger was born in 1919 to two musical parents, Charles and Constance Seeger. His childhood was very much influenced by music. During his school years, he learned to play the banjo, guitar, and ukulele. In high school, Pete “fell in love with the old fashioned five-string banjo” and folk music that seemed to him “frank, straightforward, and honest.” Pete attended only two years at Harvard after leaving high school, preferring to follow a career in music. He then traveled around the Northeast playing his music.

Sy’s mother taught piano and his father knew how to play every instrument and they taught a music class in Ohio. Sy’s father used to help the leading company of saxophones sell in the early 1900s in America. His father also was known locally for his choir, he would write their music and there Sy first saw that writing music was possible. This is my little brother's favorite book ever (and his favorite author - I think he's read all of Marsden's books.) For years I've wanted to see what was so enticing, and finally this week I picked it up.
