Dayzy Martinez-Bity Middle Ages Topic Assignment The Battle of Hasting 1066 The topic that I have chosen for my research project is the Battle of Hastings that took place in Senlac Hill near northwestern Hastings, present day East Sussex. The Battle of Hasting is seen as an important event that unified England and lead to the first Norman king. I will look at the events that lead to this war such as the death of King Edward in 1066, which left no clear ruler to take over the crown and “promises” the late king had bestowed.
