They prayed and Sheriff Jim Clark’s deputies and Major John Cloud’s troopers unblocked the bridge. But Martin Luther King still returned to Brown Chapel and did not press on. This infuriated SNCC, whom after seeing the deputies and troopers move wanted to continue with the demonstration. Martin Luther King had made a deal with Federal Mediators and he did not wish to violate it. But The Student Nonviolence Coordinating Committee saw no reason not to continue on because the men had cleared the way and therefore they believed they should be able to move through without problems.
That is how is written on his tombstone and it should be remember that way, like a hero. I also believe by us talking about his character flaws it wouldn’t be fair for him because he is not present to defend himself or to even listen to his side of the argument. No one is perfect, people in general have flaws and doesn’t determine the time of person they are or will become, Jefferson should be remember for his accomplishments and all the good he did this
Throughout his life, he strives to be the best he can at commanding, but he doesn’t want to kill. Ender Wiggin does not want kill anyone or anything, including the Buggers. He always wondered though, what the Buggers thought about them humans. Ender didn’t feel like killing was the right answer to things. Although he did kill a few people in the story, he never really wanted to.
He finds the new religion fulfilling and embraces it in contrast to his father, who is intolerant to the cultural collision. Okonkwo continually tries to fight the changes within the Ibo society even when the clan does not assist him in getting rid of the
Will Kane chose to stay and protect the town against everyone else’s will. He stayed because he felt that it was his duty to protect the townspeople since he was the one to put Frank Miller in jail. His wife, Amy along with the some townspeople tells him to leave town immediately to protect his life. They tell him that he is no longer the marshal of the town; therefore he does not need to fight for the town. Will Kane didn’t listen to what everyone told him and stayed to protect the townspeople.
If George had payed more attention to Lennie and what he was up to, then Lennie probably wouldn’t have killed Curly’s wife. George knew that Lennie was a strong guy and he needed extra attention, and in the end that killed him. In addition, George and Lennie’s dream was crushed because Lennie didn’t listen to George. Lennie was a nice guy but he needed extra attention because he couldn’t control his actions. He had never meant to hurt anything or anyone but he himself didn’t know how strong he was.
Even though he did not commit the crime he was accused of. Even with his freedom with his reach he did not take it because, he believed that the world would finally see that he was innocent and he would be set free for the right reasons. Dewey Bozella was a man who his whole life was based on hope. He had hope and faith that he would be set free.He had hope in the judicial system. He also had to depend on people to realize that he was a innocent man. When times got tough and his faith grew weak he still pushed though it.Bozella was on the edge and he no no reason for hope he still continued to believe he would be set free.Dewey Bozella is a prime example of how hope makes all the difference in any situation. The hero and the coward both feel the same thing, but the hero uses his fear, projects it onto his opponent, while the coward runs".
was against the traditional views and unjust laws, which discriminated against him and his fellow people. He felt that the only way that these unjust laws and traditional beliefs would ever change would be by protestesting. He also felt that without protest the laws and traditions would remain the same forever. Along with encouraging protest, King's letter was also a justification of his actions. By taking the time to answer his critics (or persecutors, as he is in prison) with patience, logic and intelligence, as opposed to retaliating, King was also able to justify his actions.
Evidence: For example, in the first stanza where it says “Send forth the best ye breed-- Go bind Your sons to exile To serve Your captives' need”, it demonstrates that the narrator does not take this very seriously because of the lack of reality he uses when he states those lines. Warrant: This is true because no one would really want to sacrifice there own children especially when there are suppose to be racially superior to everyone else. It makes no sense to even call this a burden because if you are superior to everyone then you should have absolutely no burdens since your better at everything. The narrator continues by saying that they sacrifice their children to serve their captives needs which also demonstrates that it is not serious because this would mean that you are sacrificing the best of the best in order to serve and save people that are worth much less then they are. 2nd Sub claim: Another thing that the narrator does is uses a lot of repetition in order to portray the way the white man claims to feel.
He did this not because of the recognition he wanted, but because he stood up for what he believed was right. In the end, it got him nothing. He lost his job, even after his manager warned him about what he was doing, he got no recognition from the ladies, and will eventually have to face the disappointment from his family. It’s at the end where one can find the meaning of the story. Updike wrote this story to prove that doing what one believes is right won’t always end well for that person.
