Having such a small amount of people possessing such a large amount of the wealth will pull down society. Our biggest private employer, Walmart, the “Union-busting low-wage retail empire happens to have generated a $200 billion family fortune”, while, not even paying their workers a living wage. People having accumulated all this wealth then use it to pay off politicians to vote and write bills in their favor. America would be better off with the upper class being flushed out of our system.
“...I’d borrow two or three dollars off the judge for him, to keep from getting a cowhiding” (pg.27) In Paps case, two of the flaws lie directly within him. Greed and alcoholism. His flaws are the cause of why Huck doesn't care if he dies or not. He was not a proper father to Huck. What kind of father beats his children for a couple of dollars?
Since Jerry had no idea what he was doing as a criminal mastermind, he couldn’t successfully put across some guidelines for the two hit men. His greed also just wanted it done for himself, while he just basically sits back and lets it happen. This mistake is what leads to the three innocent lives being lost in the car, and later Jerry’s wife ends up being killed after not cooperating properly with one of the hit men. All Jerry wanted was the easy way out of his financial slump, but he ended up getting himself into much more than he asked
East of Eden – Chapters 34-39 Chapter 34 - The Question Good vs. Evil? The narrator says that people can be measured by the world’s reaction to their deaths. Recalling one man who made a fortune on the backs of others but then attempted to make it up later by becoming a philanthropist; people took that man’s death with quiet relief. Unlike another man he remembers ,who had always been immoral, manipulating others under the pretense of virtue; so people greeted his death with joy.
When they finally find’s another “replayer” they contact him and make arrangements to meet. He then tells a weird story about why he replays and his thoughts about other “replayers.” In the end Jeff wished that they never met the guy because now that he met him he thinks and sees things differently. Another reason is because of the mistake he made about wanting to invest in businesses and bet on races to get rich. In the novel Jeff owns a million dollar company and win some bets but then he realize that money can’t buy everything in the world and it can’t buy his

She suspects she should have married Edgar Adkins Teagarden because he was a wealthy gentleman, and therefore a “good man.” Supposedly people could be trusted in the past according to the grandmother and Red Sammy. Red Sammy states, “a good man is hard to find,” considering himself, known to be clumsy, to be one of a dying breed. Even the Misfit remembers things his father said and did as well as the unfairness of his punishment for crimes that he can’t remember committing. According to these characters, the present is filled with pain and unhappiness, and things were different long ago. In a way, this belief allows them to stop short of deeply exploring their own potential for greatness because they’ve allotted themselves that the world is not associated with it.
Charlie perfectly demonstrates the message of the play, that every person fins happiness in their own way. Throughout the story it’s pretty easy to hate Charlie he seems to be doing nothing but hurting himself and the ones around him. Towards the end of the play the audience comes to find out that Charlie has one hundred and twenty thousand dollars and could be getting the best medical help possible. But instead of saving himself, he’s been saving all of the money for his daughter Ellie. Now it can definitely be argued that this is not the correct things to do and that maybe Charlie could have lived longer with help from the doctors.

Tom and Daisy represent the rich in the social structure, who only care about their own pleasures and safety, and it is them who are careless, irresponsible bullies who are so used to money’s ability to
