I stumbled upon the Church of Scientology of Philadelphia quite by accident. I was in Cherry Hill for a business meeting on a Saturday morning, and we were looking for something to do that afternoon, so we decided to do some wandering around Philadelphia. We went to visit a jewelry shop on Race Street I had heard some good things about, and we walked by a woman handing out a small pamphlet with a picture of man I’d never seen before, a website address at the bottom of the page, a few quotes, and some merchandise it said was available for purchase in the bookstore upstairs. By attending services and studied the belief system, complete freedom, which we refer to as “Total Freedom” can be attained. Scientologists are similar to Buddhists and Hindus in their belief of reincarnation. Christians believe in good and evil. We use repentance to turn back from the evil that has a hold on our lives, and focus back on the way God has planned for us. This salvation gift is free to all who are willing to receive it. In Scientology, auditing (counseling) enlightens people to keep their mind clear and open so they can achieve self-realization. Scientologists become saved through this progression process, which costs thousands of dollars due to the cost of materials and the cost of counseling
