Each year, millions of people flock to Washington D.C.’s National Mall, a long strip park of all different kinds of monuments and memorials. Each landmark capitalizes strength, commemorates sacrifice, and commands appreciation. Only with sincere consideration to location, size, material, and public perception can a monument be resurrected to justifiably pay homage to a deep sacrifice or tribute to a moment of great achievement. Breathtaking vistas or stark walls can attribute to the overall ambiance of a monument.
