This song was definitely arranged however they had their own improvisations. The song was very upbeat and I was immediately focusing all my attention on the band. Gordon Jones, on alto sax, performed a solo in the middle of the song that was unbelievable. DJ Williams also soloed, and demonstrated his skills as a guitarist with a great rhythm. After the first song, I was amazed.
As for the album that cemented him as a great star to be around for awhile, that would be his 3rd album. Chief was released the summer of 2011 and débuted at No. 1 on both Top Country Albums and Billboard 200. Eric does a great job stretching the boundary of the country music sound. In the album he uses reggae and rock element with a few of his songs, challenging what everyone thought county should sound like.
I have always had a great passion for singing. From the time I could speak my first words, I was singing! Although singing in front of others had a pure sense of joy pulsing through my veins, in my own time, singing has always been way of blocking out all my worldly worries. It is one thing that I feel strongly about, knowing that I have attained the skills with perfect ease, as if it has always been there within my soul, only left for me to discover. From a very early age, I wanted to and have to quite an extent, attain a strong understanding of the use of tune, rhythm and beats, how to pace up, where to pause and breathe.
This choir had to me the most proper attire for the occasion; Apple Festival apparel. They were enthusiastic as the crowd was too. Over all my night was long but I had music to help me
Oops! Tim McGraw's label, Curb Records, has gone ahead and released yet another McGraw greatest hits album - without the musician's knowledge or permission! McGraw says he feels most for his fans - "It has to be just as confusing to the fans as it is to me." That's because this is the second compilation album since 2006, with only one studio album in between. McGraw says he's been working on a studio album for over a year now, performing new tracks on tour and hoping to release the new album in the fall.
Burnside, the third characteristic that defines them as a Southern rock/blues band is their genuine love and respect for old Mississippi Delta Blues. The love can be heard in their album Hernando. “While I have always been a fan of bands who take the time to write good songs and make sure the album sounds good from a production standpoint, there's always something special about a band who makes it sound easy to some great rockers and The Allstars manage to inject all of their music with the same joyful abandon” (Homewood 1). Homewood says this because the production quality of the album isn’t an A+, but the band doesn’t seem to put production quality as a top priority; instead, the band simply loves playing their unique spin on Delta Blues music. Hernando also features covers of R.L.
Bela Fleck Concert This past week, I watched a concert performed by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. The style of music was very different from what I am used to, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well the band played. The concert was held at the Quick Center for the Arts and seemed very informal. There were several times where audience members clapped, cheered, or stood up. The concert hall appeared to be a formal concert hall.
In lyrical forms of music, the melody of a song revolves around that one catchy lyric that people just cannot seem to forget. Melodies give song composers the ability to portray different emotions depending on what that composer feels is important to their music. Harmony also plays a large role. While the melody gets most of the attention, harmony plays more of a background role giving support to the melody. It helps create a vertical progression throughout the
It is recognized all over the world, and it has the ability to bring people together in times of joy, tragedy, war, and peace. As someone who understands both the simplicity and the complexity of music, I am very opinionated as to what makes music “good” or in better words, worth listening to. Composers such as Vivaldi, Mozart, and many others helped to define music of their generations. Everyone knew and appreciated the works they composed, and a great number of people still find the time to appreciate it. In the rock and roll era, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin started revolutions in their own ways.
Initially, music from the eighties and nineties was considered “real”. According to Deejay, music back then had meaning to it. I listen to a lot of songs classified as “Old School” and I learned from the songs different ways to overcome certain situations or to stay lifted up. Even though the music was secular it had positive meaning. The artists in the eighties and nineties worked hard for their fans appreciation.
