Inclusive learning should promote positive behaviour and conduct. A teacher needs to recognise that learner comes with different learning styles and needs. Maslow stated unless certain need are met the learner cannot progress. Malsow ‘s hierarchy of needs theory is: Learners needs have to to be met in order for leaners to be involved and focused on their learning. For individual learning styles to be met, within a good learning sessions a teacher will ensure he/she takes a multi-sensory approach to teaching, this way each learner can work to the best of their ability.
Introduction In this assignment I am going to cover the role of the teacher, the responsibilities that they have in the education and training environment. I will also discuss how to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for your learners. In this respect, the ultimate aim is to enable learners to understand how to take responsibility for their own development. Teachers can do this by planning and preparing teaching and learning activities that take account of the needs and well-being of individual learners as well as groups of learners. Some key aspects of a role as a teacher may be: carrying out initial and/or diagnostic assessments; clear communication with your learners, other professionals and stakeholders; promoting appropriate behaviour and respect for others; identifying and meeting individual learners’ needs; being aware of the support mechanisms available; being organised; being reflective, which means learning from successes as well as mistakes. What are my responsibilities as a teacher? As a teacher, my primary responsibility is to ensure that learners are enrolled onto the correct course, in terms of meeting their needs, abilities and aspirations.
Teachers can analyse performance using tests or questioning the pupils after completing an activity. Plans could include differentiated classroom groups, built in review time. Plan to give pupils examples of a variety of skills, attitudes, standards and qualities to aim for. Unit 8: Use and Develop Systems that Promote Communication Be able to address the range of communication requirements in own role: It is imperative whilst working with children to be able to address the range of communication requirements within a school. Without communication methods and strategies confusion, miscommunication and assumptions can arise unnecessarily. Building a successful classroom environment requires effective communication strategies. It is proven that schools that have developed effective communication strategies are often very efficient when it comes to teaching students. I liase through many different communication methods with a range of people and departments within my current job role.
If you know the learning style of the student, it is easier to convey the message you are trying to convey. Teachers adapt to their students and help them according to their style learning. Knowing the learning strategies influence teaching and learning by allowing the teacher know what is going on and giving students a chance to understand the material. The key strategic purpose of the teachers is to prepare lessons to impart information and make them as interesting as possible to keep children engaged and to promote learning by leading discussion and encourage participation. They must ensure the classroom environment is supportive for all learners. Teachers should prepare homework and assignments to assess learner’s progress and feed that back to both students and families. Support staff roles refers to any school employee allocated to assist administrators, teachers etc. to address special needs within the school.
What learners say and do is then observed and interpreted, and judgements are made about how learning can be improved. These assessment processes are an essential part of everyday classroom practice and involve both teachers and learners in reflection, dialogue and decision making. Assessment for learning should be regarded as a key professional skill for teachers Teachers require the professional knowledge and skills to: plan for assessment; observe learning; analyse and interpret evidence of learning; give feedback to learners and support learners in self-assessment.
