Ad Analysis Since the creation of Ford Motor Company and Chevrolet the question has been argued back and forth, “who has the better pickup?” Both companies have tried to out do the other in both commercials and do several stress tests on the truck itself. Founded in 1911 Chevy started small and it wasn’t until the 1920’s and 1930’s that they really started to compete with Ford which had been around since 1903. Out of the hundreds of ads we see everyday we notice the ones that are comical, why? Because we enjoy a good laugh. Chevy took advantage of the 2012 end of the world thing during the Super Bowl and showed how two things will survive the end of days, Twinkies and Chevy trucks. There was another ad from the 1980’s where Ford tried to show its strength by having a Chevy truck in the bucket, while pulling a Dodge and GMC behind it while going uphill, almost instantly Chevy came back with a similar ad where it had three trucks in the bucket, going uphill, and then having another Chevy pull the hill away with the trucks still on it. In the start of the Chevy ad it states that Ford did the similar thing but they could do it better. Chevy versus Ford Motors will always be a contest and out of the specs from each truck it seems that each truck is better in one way but lacks in another. Just as the New Chevy is better with MPG the new Ford has a softer ride. If asked the question I personally would say Chevy is the better, as I drive a Chevy.
