Character Analysis: Freak The Mighty

Being in Maxwell’s Shoes If I were to magically become Maxwell in the narrative called Freak the Mighty, I would do a few things differently than what actually happened in the narrative. At the scene of when Maxwell and Freak were attacked, I would have done it a bit differently than what happened in the narrative. Also, I would have done the scene where they were trying to return Loretta Lee’s purse back to her very differently. The last part of the book that I would have done very differently would be the end of the book. That is when Freak is hypothetically going to have his robot operation and gives Maxwell the vacant book/ journal so that Maxwell could write about all the pleasurable stuff that they had done together. In the middle of the night, Freak decided that we had another quest to accomplish. He said that it was like a treasure hunt except he already knew where the treasure was. So, we went to the sewer because Freak said that that was where he saw Tony D.’s gang drop the purse while they were trying to escape from the police. Apparently, we were searching for a purse that was dropped down a grate that leads down to the sewers. So, we went to the sewer and found the purse. When we found it, we opened it up to see if there was an I.D. in it. Since there was an id in it, we took it to the nearest police station and turned it in. The police officers found the owner but it turned out that the owners were actually criminals that the police department had been searching for. Well, first of all, I would not be going in the middle of the night to a sewer just to find a purse that a leader and his gang stuffed into. Secondly, if I actually found the purse, instead of possibly putting myself in danger, I would just let the police department take care of it. In this scene, I wouldn’t actually change a lot of things. The only thing that I would change is the part about what Freak told me when he was giving me the empty, blank-paged notebook. I would tell Freak that although I was not a very good writer that I would still try. In reply, Freak would respond with something positive instead of something negative. So, all-in- all, it was a wonderful narrative; these are just some things that I thought would have been better if the characters did some things differently than what they did in the
