Assignment 013- Understand Partnership Working in Services for Children and Young People Task A Why is it important for children and young people that you work in partnership with the following people/groups? Parents, carers and guardians This partnership is very important because parents or carers need to trust the nursery and staff that work there. They will expect the best quality of care for their child. Partnering well with the parent or carer of the child will increase good communication including sharing important information regarding the child needs, wants and development. Building trust with parents or carers will result in them knowing that the nursery is a very good place for their child as it offers a great amount of help and support, which is especially important for new parents or carers.

This shows that your brain helps with emotional intelligence and emotions play a critical part in teaching and learning. When working with children you need to make sure that the setting is emotionally positive and supportive workplaces for all learners. Daniel Goldman believed that the environment that children work in should be made safe and secure, rich in sensory stimuli, able to meet the needs of learners, conduct a positive relationship, promote self-esteem and an environment that is free from negative stressors such as hunger, thirst and threat etc. Daniel Goldman also believed that it is important not to neglect the emotional life of young children. Feelings, self-awareness, life skills, co9nflict, management, and self-esteem are critically important.
In addition, the use of visual signs or simple sign language to make the child aware of health and safety in the setting should be considered. 1.2 An explanation of how health and safety is monitored and maintained and how people in the work setting are made aware of risks and hazards and encouraged to work safely. In our nursery, we maintain a safe and healthy environment by following the correct legislation and ensuring that all staff work safely in the environment.
E1 & E2 There are many pieces of legislation that influence working practices in a setting for children. These may include: ← Health And Safety At Work Act (1974): This influences practice by ensuring that the setting is safe for children to use e.g. Regular risk assessments to identify and remove any potential hazards inside and out i.e. trailing wires, overloaded plug sockets, harmful chemicals, animal faeces and rubbish etc ← Children Act (1989): “Aims to protect children in every situation – in their homes, in day care or in full time care” Beaver et al (2008) pg 19 Some principles included in this Act are: Children have the right to be safe and the welfare of the child is paramount. This helps influence practice by ensuring that they are providing a safe and secure environment and by ensuring that each child’s individual needs are taken into consideration in order to be met.

Little Gems Nursery: Safety and Policy and procedure This evidence states the role that practitioners have in keeping children safe. It outlines the practitioners responsibility in ensuring that all children are kept safe, the policy states the different ways practitioners have to keep children in their care safe for example “ensuring a staff member is in attendance on the front door at the beginning and end of each session” and “providing a room layout that ensures clear access to fire exits” Just Eat More I’ve included this picture in my evidence because it shows the different fruit and vegetables that children can eat for their 5 a day. Why I included
The setting that I am going to describe to you is a school setting. I will tell you how to create a positive environment when the children are in the school setting and how parents can carry on this positive environment out of school and encourage children in all areas of their development. The environment I will be concentrating on and informing you about is a state infant school for children aged 5 years to 6 years and 11 months. It is important to create a positive and reassuring environment for children. This makes the children feel safe, happy and secure during their time at school.
The reasons leading communication can be divided in six main subjects. Firstly, communication is essential for sharing ideas such as sharing thoughts about the childrens development with colleagues. Communication is also used for the creation of new relationships such as with both children and parents when they start at nursery. At this point, a smile or a wave is a good way of communicating. The next step is to maintain the existing relationships.
