Causes of Sports Injuries For many years, sports have been a very important part of people’s lives. Sports teach athletes many things like hard work, teamwork, discipline, and many other things. Although sports have many positive aspects, there are also a few negatives. One that has been and always will be a factor of sports is injuries. While many people are careful and take caution to help make sports safe, there can still be injuries due to the dangers that come along with them, especially to those who are not careful. There are two main types of injuries when it comes to sports, one that can be prevented and ones that cannot. The preventable injuries can be anywhere from a small cut or bruise to a serious concussion or a broken bone. Multiple factors can cause these preventable injuries in sports. Some causes of these injuries that can be avoided are, not warming up properly, poor technique, using equipment incorrectly, not taking the proper safety precautions, and overestimating your level of fitness, strength, and endurance. From these avoidable causes, they can lead to injuries like a strain muscle, bruises, concussions, and even possible broken bones. Though there are many ways to avoid injures, there are some that no matter what you do to be safe they can still occur. These types of injuries can vary on which sport the athlete plays. Some types of injuries like bruises, concussions, and broken bones can occur with any sport you play.
