When living on his own he has been going to bars and getting drunk, calling stripper, and has thoughts of committing suicide. After living alone for a while, Holden goes and visits his sister at her school. When Holden gets to his sisters school he picks her up and takes her to the zoo. After talking with his sister he decides to go home and tell the whole story to his parents. This book relates to the quote because Holden tried going out and living on his own after getting kick out of school and with all the stuff that happened to him like getting robbed and beaten up by a strippers body guard, and getting drunk Holden has had enough and wanted to go home and tell his parents. So although Holden went home after trying to live in the city on his own he is now home which is better for him. This relates to the quote because Holden’s goal was to live on his own in the city and although he did not succeed at doing it is unimportant because now he is living at home with people that care for him and know what is best for
