Sheilds' parents separated when she was young and was raised by her mother. Her father had an active role in her life growing up. After graduating Princeton University she married Andre Agassi and was divorced a couple of years later. After her divorce she started dating again and remarried. At the end of Beowulf an old woman takes part in a burial ritual. “A gnarled old woman, hair wound tight and gray on her head, groaned a song of misery, of infinite sadness and days of mourning, of fear and sorrow to come, slaughter and terror and captivity” (Beowulf 127). Beowulf was a much beloved and famous king among the Geats and as such this woman’s role in his burial ceremony would have to be of great significance.

Listening to my academic advisor is essential because it benefits her and I. When she listened to the strengths and weaknesses that I have, it helps her to better find a way to help me. When I listen to her I get what I need to better improve myself in my studies. While listening to my daughter I get a better understanding of her as a person. This builds our relationship in tremendous ways because I can relate to her better and I know how to comfort her.
My name is Shannon Beddome. I live in Waukesha, Wisconsin for about the past 9 years. I was born in the spring of 1981 to a mother who was ill prepared and at time incapable of raising a child. My mother was married to a man who wanted to live the "single life" rather then being a father and husband. He tossed us out when I was a couple of months old.
The sailors see skulls of dead men that have fallen for the siren’s song. Even though the men see it is a trick and can tell that they will die, they can’t bear to ignore the melodic tune and are forced to be sucked into the trap. In this sense, the author could be relating the deception and confusion of the sirens to everyday life situations. We see that there are consequences and that we shouldn’t do certain things, yet we still continue to fall into the trap of our own decisions. Some things seem so valuable and so intriguing that we want them, but a lot of the time they end up hurting us.
She hurried quickly and went into that secret room, hiding herself after a statue, but her sparkly clothes revealed her. ‘What are you doing, kid?’ The man was snarling. With teary eyes, her beautiful makeup was spread across her face because of the wet tears. In the next second, he took her out, pushed her to the front room.
