I was born in Bogota, Colombia, I lived there for the first 14 years of my life, I had an amazing childhood there and I will always see it as my home. Unfortunately, when I was 6 years old my mom got laid off from her job in Colombia. She tried finding a new job but due to her age it was impossible, therefore she decided to move to the United States and seek for a better future, but her decision of moving to this country also meant that she was going to have to leave me in Bogota with the rest of my family. It was not until I was 15 years old that I decided to stay in the United States to live with my mom, I remember that the very first thing I did when it was official that I was going to stay living here was to go to Central Park and stand by the little bridge, where I was able to see the lake, I had heard many stories of how beautiful it was, but I wanted to see
The core values are the basic of every marine; they are embedded in us from the first day of boot camp till we die. Without this I we couldn’t do what we do
I was born in 1990 in Jacksonville, Florida to my parents, John and Kate Clifford. We’ve lived there my entire life because of the comforts that surround us there. My mother’s grandparents live right down the street from us and have played an instrumental role in raising me to be the person I am today. My parents are both Caucasian Americans, with my father being fully Irish in descent and my mother being a melting pot of different nationalities. Because they found each other a little later than the average couple does, they were older than most parents when they decided to have me.
I also have a little sister born August of 2007 to my mom and her new husband since 2006 named Angelique Catherine LeBouef. I started my educational journey at Daspit Elementary and now I am a senior at Westgate High School. I am doing this paper for Mr. Bernard’s Western Civilizations class. I was born and raised here as a Cajun boy. I have lived most of my life at 628 Colleen Street in New Iberia.

My family is very open-minded, and I feel this has really impacted me. Since young ages I have always been open-minded and understanding about people of other races and backgrounds Family is very important in my life and has really shaped who I am today. As well as family, my community has also helped “shape” me. I grew up in Cold Spring Harbor. Since then the community has been nothing but nice to me, and me and my family have made many life-long friends here in Cold Spring Harbor.
-Firoozeh Dumas, born in Abadan, Iran, came to the United States with her family in 1972 when she was seven years old. It was to be a temporary move. Her father, an engineer for the National Iranian Oil Co., had been given a two-year assignment in the U.S., presumably because he had attended graduate school in America and thus, was assumed to speak fluent English and have a degree of familiarity with American culture. They settled in Whittier, California. The father had spoken about America "with the eloquence and wonder normally reserved for a first love." Thus, the family had high expectations of this country full of "clean bathrooms and very, very kind people.
I was born and raised within the small confines of San Clemente, California, as were my parents and grandparents causing my family to be commonly referred to as the “Clemente Calverts”. I had gone through school with the same group of peers since preschool, had the same sports teams and the same group of friends. A change as big as moving to a completely different state, which happened to be in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, came as quite a shock. In the beginning I
My father who came from a high upper middle class was the first to come to the states (Los Angeles, California) in 1982 because of the Salvadorian War that lasted from 1879-1990. Soon after, my mother who was born into a very low class immigrated to the states in 1984, leaving their two children behind. Both of my parents worked hard, my mother as a house keeper and my father
