I seemed to feel more with the hair brush. Which body parts in your list have the two highest nerve densities? The two body parts with the highest nerve densities are the lips and the kneecap. Which have the two lowest? The two with the lowest are palm and elbow. In two or more sentences, explain why these results make sense, given what those body parts do. The lips were the most sensitive. They help hold your food in as well as produce speech. They help make different sounds such as whistling and kissing. They have a very thin layer of skin. The reason I think the elbow is the lowest is because it is mainly a joint. It is hard bone and cartilage without many nerves on the outside. Cat’s whiskers are used to sense when the animal is close to an object. Knowing that, would you hypothesize that cat’s whiskers contain a high or low density of neurons? Explain. A cat’s whiskers contain a high density of neurons. They feel not just by touching objects but, by sound waves in the air around them. To be able to feel the sound waves they would have to be really sensitive.
