Finally, the fourth plane crashed into a field in the rural area of Pennsylvania around 10:03 A.M. (911 timeline). At the Seattle-Tacoma Airport, in Tacoma, Washington, he released thirty-six passengers and two crew members once his demands were met (Pasternak). After taking off again Cooper ordered the plane to fly at a low altitude towards Mexico. At 8:13pm pressure gauges recorded his jump over the Lewis River from 10,000ft into a thunderstorm with over a hundred mile per hour winds and negative temperatures wearing only a thin suit, wrap-around sunglasses, and a rain coat (Brad Meltzer's Decoded). Many people believe that this was a suicidal jump and that Cooper died that night (Mysterious Disappearances in U.S. History). A reporting error in this high interest case mixed up his name forever immortalizing him as D.B.

The Sinking of the Lusitania Throughout the history of the world, many ships have sunk. Many sunk in battle and many sunk on accident. But, in the case of the Lusitania, an enemy of the cruise liner’s owner deliberately torpedoed ship full of civilians. During the events of WWI, the Germans sunk the Lusitania, a British cruise ship sailing from the United States to England that contained many American passengers. Many people, especially Americans, believe that Germany killed the passengers on the Lusitania for no apparent reason.

Reentry has, of course, always been a difficult part of the space program. But this is, in fact, our first fatal accident on reentry. Apollo 13 is remembered as our most difficult ever reentry, but the ship and crew survived. The Soviets lost a crew on reentry in 1970 after an oxygen leak that caused the cosmonauts to suffocate on the way down. Reentry is a very difficult process, but the Russians mastered it in 1961 and we did the same a few years later.

On this date, 9/11, I was 11 years old in the 5th grade of grammar school. At that time I never went to New York before, but it to me is a massive city with a lot of pride and tradition. The though of the actions that were taking on this day by terrorists shocked me as a kid and
Algae Blooms are excessive amounts of algae that create a green, red, yellow, brown, or white film over the waters (Anderson). These colorful algae blooms are usually called “red tides” and are associated with toxic or harmful effects (Anderson). Microalgae that has chemical properties harmful to humans or other life is called Harmful Algae Blooms, or HAB’s. Over the years, there has been an increasing amount of HAB’s worldwide, in regions where they previously weren’t. (Anderson) When penguins venture out to find food for them and their family, they become covered in algae, which they later ingest when they clean their feathers.
