In our modern times, there are many ways of spending our free time. One of them is travelling abroad which has become easier and more popular with people. Although almost everyone loves travelling and spending their holidays in a foreign country, there are still others, who hate travelling and prefer staying at home. What are the advantages and disadvantages of travelling?
In my opinion travelling abroad is not only a good way of entertainment, but also very useful at the same time because you can get many advantages from this experience. One of the advantages of travelling is having the opportunity to know the world, meet people, make new friends and view new customs and different ways of living. Travelling is also an opportunity to practise your language and improve your ability to communicate effectively. Another great benefit of travelling is it helps you to forget your daily routines and problems for a few weeks. It also helps you to mingle with others and enjoy a stress free time to recharge your “batteries”
On the other hand, journeys to foreign countries have some crucial disadvantages. Firstly, the costs of travelling are often quiet high especially when travelling by plane. What is more, journeys especially foreign ones expose us to danger of disease or even death. The next disadvantage is fatigue that occur while travelling. Most journeys last very long and it can make us feel tired. Being homesick is another disadvantage of travelling abroad. During your travels, you may miss your parents, siblings or close friends. That’s why, people who do not want to travel, think it is easier to learn interesting facts about exciting places from books and TV programmes.
To sum up, travelling is a very good way of spending time. It can educate, give impressions, nice memories and let make friends. However, in my opinion travelling in spite of its whole advantages, it should not be the only way to learn about the world and ourselves....
