It is all about making the contact with others and being understood. There are two types of communication: verbal and non -verbal. Both are equally important. There are a lot of different ways to communicate with a child, including through singing, drawing, painting and imaginative play. Effective communication is very important for variety of reasons: Making relationships – Effective communication helps to create new relationships not only with a child, but with parents, careers and colleagues too.
First came the basic notes to certain keys. Next I learned how to strum. I was amazed at the fact that I could play the instrument. After each lesson I would continually practice, trying to make the clearest sound possible. I began piecing together strums and notes to play songs.
They include visual, aural, verbal, physical, logical and social. If you like the visual style, than you enjoy using maps images and pictures to study. People that use the aural style enjoy using sound and music in order to study. Verbal style studiers use both written and spoken words. Physical style means you use your body and sense of touch to learn.
Once they have mastered walking, they will then move onto jumping, skipping or hopping before then having the confidence to try running or more challenging skills like rolling or crawling. These skills help improve a child’s emotional development as they have the ability to explore; growing in confidence and independence as they do so. They also help to develop children’s language and social skills. Physical activity provides opportunities to introduce them to new words and phrases which they may not become familiar with, like faster, slower, higher and lower. The children can learn the meaning of these words and then use them in their own play with other children.
When effectively communicating, you must really connect with your audience and in order to do so you use your active listening skills so that you are able to interpret what they are saying and understand, listening to their tone of voice, making eye contact and observing their body language. Children and young people learn from observing how adults interact with each other, this influences on how they behave and communicate. Therefore, as a teaching assistant, it is important to demonstrate your communication skills and be a positive role model. Children and young people can benefit from effective communication because it helps them to achieve, pupils will understand what is expected of them, which helps display unwanted behavior. Sometimes pupils may lack confidence and find it hard to communicate, so it is especially important to be mindful and approach them in a positive and gentle manner, this helps to build trust.
