Why I am Attending College I decided to go back to college to get further education. I wanted to set a good example for my kids and show them that their education is very important. My life has been an up and down hill battle until I went back to school. I have been out of school for eleven years now, so just imagine how I feel sitting back in a classroom. When I told my mom that I had decided to go back to school she was very proud of me and told me that I can do it as long as I tried hard enough.
Maya was very excited about her graduation and moving on to new things and new opportunities in the future. “ I gave myself up to the gently warmth and thanked God that no matter what evil I had done in my life he had allowed me to live to see this day” This shows how important this graduation was for her. She knew that only a small percentage would be continuing on the college, however, she knew she was one of the small percentage that would go on to college. She worked very hard in school, therefore, her work has paid off by earning a top place and to be one of the first to be called in the graduating ceremonies. “I had memorized the Presidents of the United States from Washington to Roosevelt in chronological as well as alphabetical order”this shows that she was pretty smart.
Balancing School, Work, and Family In America it is important to have an education to enhance your job and provide a comfortable future for your family. After having my daughter I realized that education is significant in order to succeed. Working takes a lot of time away from my family. Adding school to my schedule makes it difficult to spend quality time with my child. The problem I have with balancing school, work, and family is being an excellent student, an outstanding employee, and a caring mother all at the same day.
It has helped me with the debt that I had prior to returning to school. This started off being the main reason why I decided to return to school but I saw the bigger picture and that was me getting a college degree and making a better life my children. So for me, it is all worth it in the end. While trying to pursue my degree, I know there will be many obstacles in the way such as unsupportive peers and being able to maintain good grades. Some of the strategies are to make sure I study all material as much as I can and turn all assignments in a timely manner.
Merritt’s persona is of a goal driven successful college student and mother. She argues to convince other young mothers that they can graduate high school and go on to college and get a degree. The example she gives of herself as successful high school as well as drum major, Advanced Placement (AP), and voted most likely to succeed is a very impressive repertoire. However, this may influence her audience in a negative way. Most of the audience probably doesn’t measure up to those standards.
What were the issues and challenges faced by the main characters regarding the choices they had to make regarding college education, marriage, relationships, and family? The main characters of the film faced many difficult challenges during their time at Wellesley. There were many burdens placed upon the young women of the school, particularly Joan and Betty. They each had to face issues that women today wouldn't dream of dealing with. Joan was a very smart girl who was taking pre-law courses and thought about going to Yale and becoming a lawyer.
I knew before returning to school that it would be hard to accomplish everything but somehow I will find the time to be a great mother as well as a good student. I live paycheck to paycheck to paycheck and I want more for my children and myself. By returning to school, I am able to show my children that it is never too late to go after your dreams. The only thing stopping you is yourself. I want to be an example for my children, so they will see how important a college education is.
This break gives students a time to find themselves and find what truly inspires them. For many people this is to travel the worl and many others is to get into the workforce. On the other hand, many young people don’t have any idea what they want to do with the rest their lives so having this time to think and find themselves would be a great idea. Instead of wasting money paying for classes they possibly will never use in their job. During this period of time it would be a good idea to work on college applications and improve your odds to get in a good college.
Her children are her main and first priority. On a day to day basis there are different array of things from appointments to homework, errands, cooking and cleaning. Helping with sick and premature babies, I would help with the beginning stages of life and contribute to a strong start to a family. I like change and with no two days the same it would never get boring. I do well in an unpredictable environment where I am able to stay busy, manage my time, and prioritize tasks, and the field for neonatal nursing would be a strong fit for me.
