Behavior & Communication of the American Red Cross BCOM 230 01-12-14 Behavior & Communication of the American Red Cross The American Red Cross is a company of high values and ethics. The American Red Cross is an organization that helps every human being no matter the color of their skin, the god they believe in, or the region they are from. This is a great company not only for people in need but a great company to work for. My Grandmother retired from the American Red Cross. She was a consular to those who were told that they were HIV positive. I sometimes would go to her work place and volunteer filing paper work. When I was volunteering there, their main form of communication was the telephone, and paper memos. Computers were around, but not as advanced as they are today. Today they use emails and conference calls to communicate with people all over the world. Communication is a big part in an organization. Companies have invested lots of money into all their communication devices. People are taking communication seminars and communication classes are now a requirement in the majority of all majors. You have to well enlighten about all types of communication channels in order to maintain a advanced position in any environment. The American Red Cross is part of the Emergency Communication Services provided to the Military. This service helps military soldiers to receive any pertinent information regarding their families. To have this job you have to be educated in how to communicate information appropriately. They could be communicating information regarding a death in the family or even a birth, but either way the message has to be communicated in a sensitive matter.
