Every night they would pray to their moon God to grant them the ability to see each other in the darkness. The moon told them she would grant their wish if they brought her a dozen extravagant white roses. The horses were confused due to the fact that they had never seen let alone heard of white roses. They begged their moon to tell them where they could find such flowers. Their God told them what they sought could only be found in the cave of the best.
In the literary work I have studied, "A Long Way Gone: the author uses many symbols to support his main theme on oppression like the moon, the cassettes', and dreams. The author uses three ways to show his account of the events, he uses present, past and his dreams which he switches over from time to time to support his story. The moon is included in every part of the book. The author first remembers how his grandmother told him “We must strive to be like the moon.” (Beah 16) and this gives him safety. In the book when Ishmael is outside during the night he feels safe as he watches the moon.
Kurt Vile returned home last night to play Union Transfer for the first time in front of a packed crowd. The 15-song set relied heavily on Vile’s latest full-length Smoke Ring for My Halo, with eight of the album’s ten songs being performed. Vile also played two songs from his new six-song EP So Outta Reach, plus three songs from 2009′s Childish Prodigy. He rounded out the set with one song from each of his first two albums, Constant Hitmaker and God Is Saying This To You. Vile sauntered on stage around 10:15 to kick off the set with “Blackberry Song” by himself before bringing out his band The Violators, with the added treat of Adam Granduciel from The War On Drugs thanks to a break in their own tour.
1 Miriam Moreno Woodstock 2 There was a lot of stuff that happened during the 60's. The sixties were about assassination, unforgettable fashion, new styles of music, civil rights, gay and women's liberation, Vietnam, Neil Armstrong landing on the moon, peace marches, sexual freedom, drug experimentation, and Woodstock. (Kopper,2009) All of these things changed the world of music and society. Woodstock was a three day concert, held in Catskill Mountains of New York’s Sullivan country, where people just enjoyed the great music and loved one another. Just imagine being in a concert where there is groovy performers and everyone one is happy and having a good time.
Jazz & Pop Joshua Stedman On Sunday my friend Laura accompanied me to the Van Dyke Cafe in Miami Beach. We went at around 8:30 or so. I couldn't attend earlier because I had some family issues to resolve. I was expecting the ambient to be somewhat serious. I turned out that the mostly everyone that attended the Van Dyke looked like they were passionate about music, and seemed pretty chill and relaxed.
Screaming fans almost overpowered the sound coming from the stage. I’m not a huge country fan but I had heard Aldean’s rendition of the song and I honestly thought that Gilbert performed it much better. You could feel the emotion seeping from the stage and the way he performed it with so much feeling; it was immediately obvious that he was pulling from his own experiences rather than singing meaningless words written by someone else. Giving the audience a change of pace, he slowed the tempo midway through the show and sang some acoustic melodies. The audience swayed under the dimmed lights to the tempo as he sat in the middle of the stage, he and his guitar the only presences on the stage as a filler light cast his shadow across the floor.
The Clerk: One man was known for his philosophy but despite his attempts his efforts to help the young men went to feathers. The Parson: The next lad to come along seemed very sad. For something laden his heart and that was the thought of the spiritual disappearance within the young men. So as this churchman spoke and poured out his words of wisdom, the young men sat back and didn’t even try to listen. The Ploughman: Now this was not the last time that the men maintained a visit, for only a few days later the churchman’s brother came to visit and leaving with the same results he soon gave up but not without rebuking their crude insults.
The first concert report I am doing is the one I attended with my fiancée on September 14 of this year at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. The Group that was preforming was Stone Temple Pilots which happens to be her all-time favorite group. I can start by saying that the atmosphere was pretty laid back with a lot of people in my age group attending. As this would be my first concert of my life, I really didn’t know what to expect while I was there. I was also surprised with the amount of music I knew from them.
The night started off with Armen Bazarian as the opening act, performing solo on the guitar and vocals. He got into Claim the Mic by putting up a video on the Facebook group for the event and won over the organizers decision by his great talent. Sarahos was up next with great drumming, lots of diversity in there music and a lot of energy from all of there band members. Sarahos had a very impressive 385’ 000 hits on there My Space page following into there performance. Fear of Romance was the 3rd band and they were much different then the others, they were all instrumental.
The group continued on for On Air in 1996 and The Time Machine in 1999. During that time, the first of the "Alan Parsons Live Project" toured around sold-out performances to audiences around the world. After Alan's move to California, a new version of the Live Project band was created in 2003, then again in 2010. Today’s band is made up of Alan on acoustic guitar, keyboards, and vocals; P.J. Olsson on vocals, Manny Foccarazzo on keyboards, Guy Erez on bass, Alastair Greene on guitar, Danny Thompson on Drums, and Todd Cooper on sax, percussion, and
