Throughout his campaign, he spoke of hope. He gave us just that. He spoke of change, and we can already see it happening with the his election being a monumental achievement for the African American community. From those that support Obama, it is overwhelming and excited. He has instilled positivity back into our patriotism.
President George Washington emphatically stated that,” we should not look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past errors, and for the promise of profiting by dearly bought experiences.” Many doubted his greatness but his impact on the United States of America remains paramount. Winning the War for American Independence, being the first president and shaping the way the Constitution was written, were all attributes of the “Father Of this Nation”, President George Washington. From his youth he lived by his belief that “Knowledge is Power” and he was not afraid to let the world know that God is an important part of everything we do. He was an advocate for justice and freedom. The little details in his life predicted his behavior in loftier and more difficult situations presented to him.
Barack Obama In my opinion I believe that president Barack Obama should win the 2012 election. I think that Obama is good president because he is a person that has accomplished most of his promises he talked about in his last election. He gives good speeches to the people so they could understand his point of views. He shows good effort to fight in what he believes. He has done many things to improve the United States like the economy, taxes, Afghanistan, energy and immigration.
Presidents in Comparison: Barack Obama We are under the leadership of a wonderful President. President Barack H. Obama he is a man of great character and a want to help the American people in any way he can. To help his people he has strategically set up policies that are in there best interest. Being that he is not the first President I am certain that in his effort to give the American people the best that he could offer he look at policies and ideologies of previous presidents such as Presidents Andrew Jackson, Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon, Johnson, and Ronald Regan. In this powerful essay you will see the comparison of President Obama to each of those men.
He was such an important figure in the civil rights movement and the Vietnam War, which was a huge test of his presidency. He had to deal with massive social revolution both about the Vietnam War and Civil Rights. He had a determination to succeed, run over or around, whoever or whatever got in his way, he didn’t care who he rubbed the wrong way just as long as he felt he was doing the right thing. His drive resulted in new hope for thousands of Americans for generations to come. A good quote I found in Indomitable Will displaying Lyndon Johnson’s character is the following words from LBJ “What we wanted to do for the country is what we did… I really wanted a country where the Congress and the Government would provide education for every kid from Head Start to adult education by ’75, and we got those going…This is what I wanted to see done in Civil Rights and this is what we have done about it.
Mr. Castro did an awesome job with his speech. Presedent Barack Obama would have not chosen a better speaker. “And with the opportunity we build today for a shared prosperity tomorrow, America will prevail. It begins with re-electing Barack Obama. It begins with you.
He gave hope to the number of Americans without healthcare or who are struggling to find a job. The President stated that the United States is a country that is not afraid when times are hard and is willing to fight through the troubles for our children and grandchildren. He proposed many ideas that he thinks will help better the nation. As one of the key components of democracy, popular sovereignty, the people of this country want solutions to the problems and Obama has some ideas. Now it is in the hands of Obama and his administration to take it a step further and see if it is really the answer our country is looking
My understanding of the society I live in changes from day to day. When Obama was elected, I had great hopes for this country and that racial equality would finally balance out and that old prejudices would disappear - Black people would get better jobs, everyone would be equal, and the Democrats would take care of us and see to it that my parents and their parents get a fair deal here in America. I had unrealistic expectations, like most young people. I did not realize that the economy would go down so quickly. But I have the encouragement of my family and church, to forge ahead and attain my goals.
The United States of American has risen from an optimistic idea by our Founding Fathers and evolved into the great nation that it is today. It would be difficult to describe only one aspect of what makes America great, as there are many values and ideas which have not only shaped our nation, but inspired individuals at home and all around the world. The “American Dream” is a way of life, based on the idea that if you work hard you will be successful. This idea has endured for well over a century, and people have come to America from all over the world for opportunity and a better way of life. I know this firsthand and have felt the inspirational power of this belief, because my own Father came to the United States with very little money, but an incorrigible desire to work hard and succeed.
On the other hand President Barrack Obama has a different legacy to uphold; he has shown us that he doesn’t believe in violence he believes in diplomacy to solve disputes. I believe Obama is not living up to Malcolm X’s legacy; he has the will to lead but he is focused on helping a wide variety of people rather than just African Americans like Malcolm X did. He is focused on helping and conserving capitalism while Malcolm X was a constant prosecutor of capitalism. They are two different activist but they do have this in common that they would always be known in history for being a powerful leaders for each of there
