Running Head: Use Case for ATM Services Use-Case Models for ATM Services Paper written for CIS 210 Rebecca Guerrero-Watkins Assigned by: Professor M. Cohen Strayer On-line University In order to identify, clarify and organize the system requirements of the bank's Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) for our system analysis and support team we have created a use case for making an account withdraw, making an account deposit and making an account transfer to describe the steps the user will take to accomplish these tasks on the ATM machine, and the way the ATM should respond. The use cases will also include modeled illustrations using contemporary CASE tools. Making an Account Withdraw through the ATM: Making an account withdraw from the user's bank account through the bank's ATM is achieved in seven simple steps and provides an added convenience of 24/7 access to the users funds without the need of going inside the bank and waiting in line during normal banking hours. While there are no restrictions for making withdrawals from any ATM, the user may incur a fee from using an ATM not owned by the user’s bank. (Bank of America, 2012) For illustration, we will be using an ATM at the user’s bank itself, so that if there is a problem the user can go inside and discuss this problem with a representative of the bank, with the assumption that they are at the ATM and currently have an account with funds at the bank. Step 1: User inserts ATM card into card reader and waits for ATM response. Step 2: User is prompted for personal identification number (PIN) and uses keypad to enter PIN. Step 3: User is prompted with a transaction menu and selects withdraw. Step 4: User is prompted to use the keypad to enter the amount they wish to withdraw, or to choose a preselected amount to withdraw. Step 5: User is prompted
