The industrial revolution affected the average workers both positively and negatively. With the invention of new machinery and new methods of transportation, the industrial revolution provides people with jobs and dwelling. However the working class still lived in poor condition due to the dangerous in factories and the polluted environment in the slum. The positive effect of the industrial revolution is shown in document 4 and 8 which reminded people of the “comforts and conveniences” that the industrial revolution brought to them. The use of machinery and mass production provided people with better clothing, cheaper housing and living necessity.
The artworks collected included those of Eizan, Hokusai, Hiroshige, Sharoku, and Suzuki Harunobi among others. These artworks flowed into Europe, especially France, after the trade relations between Europe and Japan were initiated by Mathew Perry’s trips to Japan, ending in the formation of trade agreements. The artists that triggered the fusion were Henry Touluse-Lautrec and Edgar Degas, who sought to comprehend the attraction of ukiyo-e, which they saw as grounded in the Japanese art of the early 17th century. Some of the art characteristics transmitted through the influence were decorative patterns, printing styles, and family crests (Flynn
Companies will have an opportunity to choose among the best talent on the market. Without fictional unemployment people would tend to stay in their current jobs for life and create a stagnant system that could create a negative effect like subduing innovation. Fictional unemployment is also important because it matches the demand for workers with the supply from companies and helps bring equilibrium into the labor
‘The comparison of two texts in terms of how the contexts of each shape form and meaning necessarily involves consideration of key perceptions into the human condition they offer?’ When we compare two texts, consideration is given to the effect of context and how it shapes form besides meaning. To what extent has this been your experience in your study? The context affects the differences in the meaning and form between two texts. It is evident in Jane Austen’s 1816 novel Persuasion and 1998 film Shakespeare in Love directed by John Madden. The 1998 film is set in the Elizabethan times despite the modernity of the form.
To improve standards of living: • Stalin knew the USSR had a bad standard of living was poor compared to the West, and wanted to catch up with them. • He knew industrialisation would create wealth for the people and would consequently improve standard of living. • The Communist life should be good and people around the world would envy but
* Aimed to improve conditions for the working class as Stalin believed the revolution was a working class one, and had seen how the peasants prospered but the working class did not under the NEP. NEP was a very slow industrialising plan, a new approach was needed as oil, coal, steel, iron and copper production was at a low level compared to other European countries. * Believed to be possible due to the fake ‘successes’ of collectivisation. * Stalin aimed to build a reputation that would surpass Lenin and show that he was against right-wing policies like the NEP of Bukharin. * Series of targets drawn up by the State Planning Committee, very extensive but the officials who set the targets had only a sketchy knowledge of the factory they were dealing with.
Governments in NIC (newly industrialized countries) have tried to lure TNC to their countries. One way they have done this is by keeping the land prices artificially low; this is so the TNC can build factories and other building for less money. They also have a relaxed attitude to environmental laws so the TNCs do not have to pay out for expensive treatments for their waste so it complies with strict laws like the ones they have in the US, UK and Japan. Another thing that attracts TNCs to NICs is the cheap labour cost, weak unions and lack of minimum wage. This means that the TNC can pay workers less, not worry about providing good working conditions.
Generally, exceptional or acceptable workforce quality is referring to how exceptional is the employees work and is their work behavior acceptable. Mueller, mentions in the text, “best and the brightest” which he is referring to the talent pool that the company is selecting from. The text also mentions that the acceptable strategy means the pursuit of a less high-powered workforce (31). Translated this means that they are not going to search for a highly educated person if production only requires those who are physically fit and capable of producing quality products quickly. Active or passive diversity is referring to the demographics of the area for which the labor is needed.
2. What are the benefits to businesses (and others) of using information technology for doing work tasks? The benefits to businesses and to people of using IT for doing work tasks are multiples. We all show effectiveness and increased performance when we use a smart way of completing our tasks. Without information technology our work would be slow, poor quality and probably more frustrated peoples for both sides beneficiaries and workers.
While any company wants to employ exceptionally quality minded employees they are also faced with the fact that they are less experienced than the acceptable quality workforce. With the strong cultural value of the company I would recommend targeting the workforce that has acceptable quality focus. These type employees will grow in the company to a higher quality level
