The parties involved may not be comfortable around the other’s friends in a social setting due to the difference of opinions. They may not want to bring their significant other to work events due to differences of political subject matter with their co-workers or bosses. Politics can be such a broad range of ideas between two people seeing as though there are several different types of political groupings you could pick from. This may be the same scenario of people belonging to different religious groups. Some may feel that because they don’t share or believe in the same standards or preaching that they are less significant or made to feel that way.
Almost all people think that getting married the one who he or she loves is natural. But there are some situations when someone cannot get married to him or her because it is socially unacceptable. The definition of marriage for different people means different things. Marriage has some forms, but nowadays the same sex marriage is the most discussed topic. So in this essay I’m going to compare the traditional marriage and the same sex marriage.
This chosen mental distance to other people made the finding of an acceptable wife nearly impossible, which brought him to call upon the marriage broker Pinye Salzman. The matchmaker's appearance is somewhat unsettling to Finkle, but still he puts his trust into the man to find a suitable partner. Already in the beginning of the story, Finkle is unhappy with the broker's work, asking about the number of cards in his hand in disappointment. He was unsure of the man's ability to find a woman due to not even personally knowing the student first. Quickly, Finkle and Salzman move through the prospects on the broker's cards, but none of them fit the young man's desire.
One possible reason is to make women doubt their own beauty, and when someone critiques themselves, the responses are not the most beneficial. This is because we all know our own flaws the best and are not afraid of being too cruel to ourselves. This doubt that women have about their own beauty, leads to doubt about marriage. I would have been a disgrace to my family and probably would have been disowned. Love to me is a very serious thing to consider and I have trust issues of letting people in intimately so marrying a stranger wouldn't work for me. If I was going to share the rest of my life with someone, share my bed, and myself, someone to be the father of my children then it would have to be someone I know, trust, and love. In history there were many cases of abuse, murder, suicide, and spouses who ran away because they were force to marry people they didn't love and sometimes people they didn't know very well. Without having the proper experience can cause this group of participant to steer off track and he might not be able to get the proper information he needs. Having an addition person available to assist would be ideal. The other person would be able to take notes, along with having the discussion taped. For example, having a female to discuss the issues with teen pregnancy where the females of the group would be more at ease discussing the issue. Many teenage females are not willing to discuss this topic with their parents and will not feel any more at ease talking to a man.
The practice of polygamy distorts the meaning of marriage. Goodman says that "defenders argue that polygamous marriages are freely entered, freely left, well protected by law or custom" (pg 90). I believe this type of marriage is wrong for the women involved and it breaks down the institution of marriage. The women are denied the intended bond they are to have with a husband. Not being able to have this bond disables her trust and intimacy with her husband, these are meant to strengthen a relationship and marriage.

It may also leave someone feeling torn between parents because they don’t want to pick one over the other. It also may come as a shock because the child didn’t see the fact that their parents were having problems. And another thing is that the parents may start dating each other again after the divorce, or start bringing overnight visitors
According to Sita, letting her parents choose her partner in life is better than an “inexperienced” person such as herself to choose a man. She also presented the comparison between American and Indian ways of meeting different people. Nanda realizes “the endless worrying… sapped both our self-esteem and our enjoyment of adolescence. I reflected that absence of this completion in India may have contributed to the self-confidence and natural charm of so many young women.” Determinately, Sita said that marriage is supposed to be mystery; you will marry a guy to know them contrary to the American way. After meeting more like Sita, she then saw arranged marriage in a different way.
