Misconceptions of Gun Control Why is it important to support your right to bear arms and stand against gun control laws? The r 2nd amendment right to bear arms is the one guaranteed freedom we have as citizens is the one freedom that guarantees you the right to defend yourself, your property, your friends and family and guarantees your other freedoms. Without trying to sound like a gun nut or anti-government the founding fathers in this country understood all too well how quickly a government could get out of hand and oppressive of the people. They also understood that the power always must be with the people. To allow the government to become more powerful than the people is to openly invite government oppression. Weapons would fall under is one of the leading subjects where there are many misconceptions. This is caused by people having several different viewpoints and different ideas on what on what falls under the second amendment and what should be narrowed down in the second amendment. One of the most divisive areas that gun control changes the amount of violent crimes in America. The national rifle association and the gun control activists are now in a series of court cases trying to defend their sides of the gun control debate. The media is spreading a lot of false persuasions for gun which makes this subject so diverse and so argumentum. Since the national rifle association is fighting so hard to keep the second amendment the way it was written makes people realize that gun control may not be the best solution for the decrease of violent crimes in America.
