English 68 24 March 2014 Contrast Paragraph Dogs Vs. Cats There are several similarities that cats and dogs share, but at the same time they are both still radically different in so many ways. Some aspects to consider when owning one of these animals include time management, size and behavior. These two animals are the most common domesticated pets in peoples homes today. A look into their similarities and difference can give a person good insight in which pet would be best for them. To begin with, cats come from the feline family.
Many people believe that because of cats’ independent nature, they should be allowed to roam free. This allows them to satisfy their hunting instincts and to function within cat society, one that has its own rules and structure. Some people assert that free-roaming cats are happier cats, living a life closer to that intended by Nature. This is all true, but it is not compatible with modern life in suburban North America. Roaming cats are susceptible to attack by other animals, to trapping by angry neighbours, and most of all, to traffic accidents.
“House on Mango Street”: The American Dream The American dream for some is to have it made, to have a stable job, and have a home that meets their needs and expectations. One must live in comfort in order to live a satisfying life. But sometimes, what we would like to have is not what we can truly acquire. Sandra Cisneros’ “House on Mango Street” is the perfect example of what a family would describe as an ideal home, but in reality they live in a home they would never imagine. The things that we dream of having one day are not always what the reality will be.

Which claim is the strongest? h e weakest? Has he left anything out? His claim is that Americans are spending too much on pets. His evidence is how much is spent for veterinary care and the additional amount spent on pet food and other supplies.
The Puppy Mill Plague The breeding and living conditions in puppy mills are ethically wrong, and stronger legislation is needed to ensure the protection of dogs that are being bred and raised for human companionship. Dogs are bred at a greater frequency than they naturally should be, which creates health problems for both the mothers and their offspring. Housing conditions at puppy mills are almost unilaterally overcrowded, and dogs may live outdoors entirely exposed to the elements. Dogs that come from puppy mills often experience social problems. Because of the cruelty that prevails at puppy mills across the country, animal rights groups work diligently to promote new legislation the ban inhumane practices at puppy mills.
Helen Szazy Mr. Stettes English 101 April 24th, 2009 The TNR project Stray and feral cats are a serious problem in the United States. They can be found wherever there is a good food source for them, such as alleys and abandoned buildings. The TNR project was created because past methods of trying to solve this problem were not very successful. TNR stands for trap-neuter-release. The cats are humanly trapped, then taken to the veterinarians, or wherever the event is taking place.
While it may be cute for a 5 pound tiny dog to put his paws on your leg when you come home from school, it is allowing a dominant behavior. If you allow this little dog to be your pack leader they will developed many behavior issues, such as jealousy, aggression with other dogs and sometimes with humans, and will become undeniably suspicious of people except for their owner. When strangers are present, they will begin to follow their owner's every move, keeping as close as possible. A Chihuahua who is pack leader of their humans may snap at children. This breed is generally not recommended for children, not because they are not good with them, but because most people treat the Chihuahua differently than they would a large dog, causing them to become untrustworthy.
