Annie- A Modern Cinderella Story Annie was a pretty normal girl. Not too tall, not too short. Not too thin, not too fat. She wasn't what you would call 'stunningly beautiful', but she wasn't ugly either. Bright red hair hung until her shoulders, a nice contrast to her pale face- something that resembled her mother. So she was average. In fact, there was only flaw to her "normal" life. Her mother had died only last year. To make matters worse, Annie's father had gotten remarried. However, it wasn’t even the stepmother that rankled her- her stepmother was the kindest, gentlest, sweetest woman ever. It was her stepsisters, Cindy and Ella that made her life miserable. They were pretty nice- around their mother. However, they were both sickeningly beautiful- Cindy with straight blonde hair to her waist, and Ella with long brown locks winding down to her knees- and whenever the adults weren't around, they teased poor Annie around the clock- about anything. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ring!!! The school bell rang, and all the students rushed to their seats in their classrooms. Ella and Cindy took their usual seats in the front to show off, while Annie slunk to the back to get away from them. When the teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, stepped into the room, she seemed very excited. "Class!" she squeaked, in a voice much like Minnie Mouse. "Today we have a special visitor coming to meet us. I want everyone to be on their BEST behavior." Tossing her head back, Ella raised her hand. "Mrs. Jenkins," she simpered, "who is this stranger?" "Oh my! I completely forgot to tell you. Now, the president's son is coming to our school. As you all know, he is going to Scotland next week as an exchange student. He refuses to take bodyguards, but has agreed to take another student his age with him. He is coming to our school to tell us how he
