Also in the movie they do not seem to have the same heavy accent they seem to have in the book. When Janie first saw Jody in the book, it was an instant attraction, in the movie, Janie had to talk to him for a while till she felt something, also, they werent chasing pigs in the book. In the book, after Janie had shot Tea Cake, she was sent to trial for commiting murder. In the movie though, there was no trial, not even the involvement of the police in the movie after Janie had shot Tea

Later when Marry Ann became a young lady she married Williams Nichols, a printer machinist, and they had five children: Edward John, Percy George, Alice Esther, Eliza Sarah, and Henry Alfred. Mary Ann and William marriage came to an end shortly after the children.

She was well educated by her father who spent some year studying for the priesthood in Rome. Mary started work at the age of fourteen as a clerk in Melbourne and later as a teacher in Portland. To provide for her needy family Mary took up a job as governess in 1860 at her Aunt and Uncle's place at Penola in South Australia.
