Claireece Precious Jones, also known as Precious is overweight African American teenager who is still in Junior High School at the age of 16 years old. She lives with her mother in an apartment in the slums of New York. Precious is a victim of psychology, physical, and sexual abuse from both her mother and father. She has had one child and is pregnant with her second child by her father; that is considered incest.
Investigators say as many as 20 people were involved in or stood and watched the gang rape of a 15-year old girl outside a California high school homecoming dance Saturday night. As many as 10 people were involved in a dimly lighted back alley at the school, while another 10 people watched without calling 911 to report it. The readers see both sides; however everyone else only sees one side of her including her husband Torvald Helmer. Torvald treats her like a trophy wife. He has put her up on a pedastal and is very comfortable keeping her there, and feels she is as well. Torvald has this theory of all women, not just Nora. He feels the wives are the ones to take care of the children and that children listen to mothers more.
Guilty or Not Guilty Imagine two high school lovers; one of them is sixteen and one of them in eighteen. They engage in sexual activity, not really knowing the consequences that the law has against that. One of the parents finds out and reports him to the police station saying that her daughter was raped, knowing that she consensually agreed to have sex with him. The court holds a trial for him and is then found guilty of statutory rape. He is now twenty five years old and happily married to his high school sweetheart, whose mother convicted him of rape.
