While I was looking at the different titles of Journal articles we could choose from, this one caught my eye immediately. I have always been interested in what it meant to be a Christian Therapist and what it would mean to be a Christian and a Therapist at the same time.

The Sabbath is a very significant day, and the Jewish people see it as a relaxing family time as well as a holy day, as the Jewish faith is heavily centered on the family. By observing Shabbat, Jews can devote themselves to prayer and Torah study. By studying the Torah, Jews learn how to keep Mitzvot (the commandments). They learn the Jewish values and find out how to apply them to everyday life.
As someone who is interested in being a chaplain or working in fulltime ministry at some point after I get out of the Army, I will definitely make use of Crisis Counseling. Other books and material that I have acquired through taking classes toward the Masters of Arts in Pastoral Counseling will be on my shelf, but this book by Floyd will probably be in my desk drawer, at close hand. The content of the book was easy to understand and follow. Floyd provided a number of real-life examples of the topics he covered, which made the material that much more relatable and relevant. Also, the scriptural references and stories from the Bible added a spiritual context that helped to tie it all in together.

It was a story of how a Samaritan helped a man who had been beaten by a gang of ancient thugs, while a priest and Levite just passed by without helping the victim.

This occupation helps to discover the reason for an individual's death through studying specimens, records, and photographs of the body and helping to prepare an autopsy report.
