In the 18th Century, gang problem became worse as the new generation of immigrants continue to enter the United States. During this time, Irish gangs like Whyos, Dead Rabbits and Plug Uglies and Jewish gangs like the Monk Eastman Gang brought terror in New York City streets (Lou Savelli, 2001). In the 19th Century, the most notorious gang was formed – the Five Points Gang. One of the most notorious members of the Five Points Gang was a young boy of Italian descent in the name of Alphonse Capone also known as Scarface. His whole life was an illustration of the power and influence of organized crime in the United States during the 19th Century (“Al Capone”).

Amber Grimes American Gangster The movie that I chose was American Gangster. American Gangster tells a story about how the emerge of drug traffic and trade was in the streets of Harlem, New York. Denzel Washington plays real life gangster- Frank Lucas back in the 70s that was originally from North Carolina. Lucas moves to Harlem and is apprenticed under a notorious crime boss- Bumpy. Frank became involved after seeing how his idol Bumpy had the respect, money and power to do what he wanted.

My dad cheated on my mom, my mom kicked him out and he didn’t come back for about a week or so. All the children were split up in foster homes and orphanages. While in school Malcolm had dreams of becoming a lawyer but was told by his teacher he wasn’t smart enough and he should try to become a carpenter. After hearing this Malcolm decided to drop out of school and started working odd jobs and committing various crimes. Malcolm became involved in drugs, gambling, and alcohol. Along with being involved in drugs and alcohol Malcolm and his good friend Malcolm “Shorty” Jarvis became involved with burglary while they were in Boston, Massachusetts.
He’s living at home in the beginning, but gets kicked out by his parents because of his drug addiction. Though he is only fifteen he knows a lot about drugs and dealing, and the writer makes him sound like he has been doing drugs for a long time. At his high school, Jack is frequently ridiculed and tormented Cohen 2 by a bully who makes several attempts to get into a fight with Jack. Each time, Jack backs off from the bully and uses his words and wit to get the bully to subside. After Tom killed the two men at his diner, the bully cracks a mean comment about Jack’s father and that was the final straw for Jack. Jack beat the bully up very badly. Up until this point in the movie, the audience would never have guessed that Jack

Characterizations of big mouth and ugly girl. There are two main characters in this book. Big Mouth is Matt - a high school boy who tends to say things without thinking first about what he is saying. An offhand remark he makes about blowing up the school is overheard and reported, resulting in his suspension, dealing with the police and a lot of negative publicity for him and his family. Even when it is decided that he did not really mean what he said he runs into a lot of students at school who now hate him, especially after his family decides to sue the school.
Kip’s strong interest in guns led him and his friends to steal a gun and stow it in his school locker – the purpose of which was unknown. This obsession with violence led Kip to believe that killing was the only answer to solve his problems at home and at school. Kip’s childhood memories were not the most pleasant – mainly those involving school. He started preschool in Spain. He was picked on and also became frustrated that no one spoke English.
