Me after 5 years Hope is the "feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best". By that, being positive in life no matter what struggles I face gives me the confidence to say, “In five years, I will become a successful Registered Nurse of California working as an Air Force Nurse.” I will fulfill my dream of being in the medical field, as well as in the military, to give care to the families that are away from their family members that are in the military and as well as the soldiers themselves. Another reason for me to become an Air Force Nurse is to save up money to give Filipino families hope for change in their communities. Then, last but not the least, I will be providing support for my child and also my family and friends here in the Philippines. I’m mainly doing this job, not only to become a servant of God, but also to prove that I am someone to look up to. Ever since I was a little girl, I wished to become a doctor so I could help the sick. As I grew up, though, my mind got broader and my interests changed, which led me in choosing to become a nurse. It still helps the sick, but I realized that it wasn’t just about that; it’s about giving optimum care and sacrifice. Sacrifice means to give up a great possession for others, while optimum care means giving your best to protect someone’s life. The military is most suitable to that definition, not just to the soldiers, but to the families they leave at home while they offer their lives to protect their country. As a mother, if I were to put my foot in those soldiers’ shoes, and I had to leave my children for a battlefield, I would need someone to raise them well. As a nurse one day, I will do my best to treat their children and spouses as my own. Their families are what they grasp on for their hope of survival.
