It may end up hurting the responsible breeders out there and not affecting the desperate ones as the reputable ones don't profit much at all. I have listed a few thoughts on possible solutions. 1) Ban pet stores that sell dogs purchased from puppy mills from operating. 2) The need to enact legislation that would regulate breeding operations. 3) Educate the public on how these mills operate and the conditions the animals live in.
Not just of the breeding dogs in the farm but most of their puppies as well. As cute as the puppy in the pet shop may seem you should always buy from a proper breeder or an animal shelter this way you will know that you are not contributing towards puppy mills and killing innocent dogs. This is one dog that was lucky enough to be saved from a puppy
10. Ask your parents to support your local shelter or animal rescue organization What is animal cruelty and what risks are involved in those who commit animal cruelty? If a group of people who believe in protecting animal was asked if hunting, calf roping and other animal activities were cruel, they might probably say “yes”. If the same question was ask to people who participated in these activities they might likely say “no”. We all see things from our own point of view regarding our concerns and interests.
Does The Current Animal Welfare Legislation Need To Be Revised In Order To Eliminate Puppy Mills? In America today, a puppy is a staple of the family, but where do the puppies come from? Most families do not consider that question when they purchase their new pet. It is very easy to go the pet store or shelter and fall in love with a puppy’s adorable face. Their big wanting eyes and wagging tails draw you in without any evidence of their history or how they got to where they are.
In addition, dogs are very loyal to their families. If a child is in danger a dog may even put its own life in jeopardy, on the other hand cats would try to save itself. Plus you can teach a dog to play fetch, come when you call it, and maybe even to shake your hand. I don’t see cats doing that. Lastly, dogs are pretty much one of the most social animals of all.
This natural urge could be taken to the extreme that one overindulges in pet ownership. This could mean owning too many pets, not properly caring for your pets or overbreeding your pets. All these overindulgences are the reasons the Humane Society of Southern Arizona exists. They are based on the idea of rehoming homeless pets, providing care for animals in need and reducing pet overpopulation. The opposite of this urge would be to not have any pets at all.
Pi shows discontent with how people spoke of zoo's being prisons for animals, versus the safe-havens he saw them as. He expresses their thoughts as "..not the way it is" (16). Here one might question that the zoo is a metaphor for religion and animals being humans. Animals have needs to happily survive such as food, water and shelter; humans basic needs for happy survival are hope and some sort of belief. Animals in the wild represent "un-saved souls" and those animals who live within the safety of the zoo represent "saved souls" who are promised love and eternal-care.
Running head: ANALYZING AN ADVERTISEMENT Module 2 Lab 2 James Crouch ITT Technical Institute EN1320 Module 2 Lab 2 Instructor: Lincoln Schreiber 7/5/15 The commercial I chose for this assignment is the SPCA Rescue the Animals commercial. The commercial shows the horrors that pets are subjected to by careless owners or just their day to day struggles to survive. The commercial shows actual footage of animals in cages that have not been fed or severely beaten and neglected. These images are heart breaking and disturbing. The commercial is designed to attract its target audience which is animal lovers.
Zookeepers give the animals their food, while vets will provide the animals preventive medicine, quarantine and many more. Furthermore, many zoos share the mission of educating the public, protecting endangered species and breeding them. However, there are some zoos that might be purely profit-driven. The zookeepers treat the animals very cruelly, by hitting the animals if they misbehave, by keeping them in small cages and forcing them to perform in front of the audience. Animals in zoos feel that no habitat can beat their natural habitat.
These reasons sometimes push animal shelters to tight corners and cause them to eliminate some of the pets that have not been adopted. If more people came up and adopted the dogs, fewer animals would be eliminated or tortured by those who adopt them for weird reasons. The other reason why one should adopt a dog is that when one adopts a dog from an animal shelter, he or she not only gets to save money but also gets to adopt healthy dogs. There is a common misconception that animals found in animal shelters usually have something wrong with them. The fact is there are numerous reasons that may make one give up a pet to an animal shelter.
