History Controlled Assessment. Why has 9/11 had a lasting significance on the fight against terrorism? In the past we have always had a problem with terrorism; There have been bombings in many different countries like Kenya, Beirut, Lebanon, Iran and Tanzania. These bombings happened because the US positioned troops out in the countries near holy sites and embassies for protection but some people didn’t like it, like Osama Bin Laden, and decided to act on it resulting in the attack of 911. Another act of terrorism was the ‘Klu Klux Klan’ who were a group of white people who did not agree with the slave trade being abolished so they would commit crimes (like burning down buildings and rioting) and would harm people who agreed with slaves being freed.
The documentary opens with the 1935 lynching of Reuben Stacy in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It then features recent instances involving the noose in various parts of the United States. This shows the producers point to relate these events and make the audience see the racial meaning of the noose in America. They want the public to realize that hanging a noose is not just a prank but is a really offending act among African-American because of the lynchings during the Reconstruction in the U.S. This movie reveals a sign of regress of our society because, most lynching incidents in America which occurred in public spaces and were usually the result of rape allegations involving black male supposedly assailants and white women who were purportedly their victims has not been seeing as a pure act of cruelty and hated from white supremacist calling for “justice”.
Alicia Mahadeo SOC. 122/EXTRA CREDITS June 23, 2012 THE RODNEY KING BEATING AND THE LOS ANGELES RIOTS Those of the minority community have been subjected, for many decades, to violence by those in law enforcement in the United States. This type of violence is a direct depiction of police brutality, which often leads to death. Police brutality has been an issue for many years, and it remains a major concern for those of the minority community. Over the past five centuries, black people have endured violence in many different ways.

The encounter ends with Brown on the ground with 8 shots in him. What happened that made the officer shoot the teen though? St. Louis County Police Chief Joe Belmar claims “Brown physically assaulted the officer, and during a struggle between the two, Brown reached for the officer's gun. One shot was fired within the car followed by other gunshots outside of the car (Gannett).” How could we possibly know if this was what actually happened though? For all we know the officer is making this story up to protect his career from a possible mistake that he made.
He blamed everyone around him for his own failings, when he would get rejected time and time again from the art school that he oh so badly wanted to get into he blamed it first on his mother, then on his father, and then on the Jews. Hitler at a very young age faced a problem on how he saw the world. This problem led him to hate an entire group of people, and that hatred and want to have a better country was his motivational drive. After being rejected again from the art school, Hitler had enough, he wished to pursue a different task and decided to go into politics. He came to hate democracy and his own government, even to the point in which he refused to do his military service.
Native Son Biggers Reaction to Fear Book 1 is called fear as most of Biggers life is surrounded by fear. Fear of white society, fear of being caught at doing something he shouldn’t be doing, fear of his friends. But what the title ‘Fear’ doesn’t express is Biggers reaction to it. Bigger reacts to fear with violence as he finds that it is his only release from the oppressiveness of white society. We know that as, when there is the rat incident, with everybody being scared, Bigger reacts by killing the beast brutally with a skillet.
This is a day that will forever be burned in the minds of not only Americans, but other cultures and races across the world. A random act of violence (of a target) can have a few different levels. This was a hate crime that not only affected Caucasians, but races from all over the world, and once other races were affected; there was no taking back the damage that had been done. When referencing the factors that serve as victimization many different levels come to mind. If the hate crime is sexual orientation based, the factor(s) would be if the victim is LGBTQ, and with the number of individuals having issues with LGBTQ, the number of crimes is on the rise.
They start off by stealing his bag and planting his maths teacher Mr Macallan’s wallet in it knowing he would get the blame because he couldn’t explain why it was there. They then steal their year’s report cards from the head of years office blaming it on Malarkey and they then only have to wait to see if he stays at Brook High or not, but while they await this verdict John Malarkey becomes more a threat to ‘the tailors’ than they are to him. The first Characteristic we hear of Malarkey in the book is that he is quite aggressive my evidence of this is “Come here I snarled as I grabbed his arm, hauling him into the empty classroom” This makes me think he is aggressive because he sounds as if he cant hold his anger so becomes aggressive towards Simon Penn. Also the fact that he hauled him into the empty classroom where hauled tells me that Malarkey physically threw Simon into the empty classroom. Another characteristic that builds the character of Malarkey is he is adamant “I might get to hear a few secrets if people believed I was a Tailor” This makes me feel he is adamant because it tells us he is eager to find out more about who he is dealing with (the Tailors).So he resorts to taking a member of the gangs black Adidas trainers because he knows that the trainers are like a trait or a symbol of the
Hate crimes are still very real in today’s world. There is more than one type of hate crime in the United States. Hate crimes are attacks against a person, property or even the society and are because of racism. Even though the Civil Rights Act was passed the people are still acting out and violating harmless victims because of racism. It is surprising the statistics even for 2012 of the violate attacks against the victims.
