However, I would disagree with almost all of this article. I don’t understand how Gatto has changed or what he’s done to change his opinion of our educational system since he spent 30 years being an educator himself. Gatto gave good examples of how men like Ben Franklin succeeded, “unschooled...but not uneducated.” That’s great. I still believe that we need our schooling system for structure and as base for our futures. These men are a dime a dozen, not everyone is a prodigy waiting to be discovered, students need fundamentals to be most successful in their careers.
The Atlanta school cheatings scandal has significant because believed to be the biggest in the nation's history. Its shows, that there is corruption in the American school, the No Student Left behind is based on test the school test scores, if the school has above average test scores. Their education board will get a higher budget for spending on improving the overall school, or providing teachers with bonus. The No Children Left Behind law should provide the school with lower test scores, and get the extra federal funds. This would allow for more motivation in the school`s that are in more rural areas because if the public will see their education buildings becoming more attractive to the eye.

They have a right to right to expand their knowledge, but does income hold them back? Some students don’t graduate from high school and if they make it to college never finish because they have financial hardships. Or going into the educational system does their income bracket set them up for failure? It is estimated that over three million students drop outs in the U.S. and a large portion of these are African-American.
Not to mention what factors the characters have going on amongst each other. These are kids from rich families in which have high expectations of their children. For example these are boys who are expected to be doctors, lawyers, politicians, etc. and are groomed for this accordingly. So the cultural background of these boys had trained them to see life in a much different way until they have Mr. Keating for an English teacher and he gives his “Carpe Diem “speech which greatly changes their perceptions of school, the future, and life.
College Admissions: College Acceptance Based On A Students Wealth If you asked most students what it takes to get into college, they would instinctively rehash what had been repeated to them over and over again: If you want to get into college, you're going to need good grades and extracurricular activities! But nobody ever told these students that there was a way to bypass these requirements and guarantee your admittance. It turns out that if you are able to, you can bribe a fair amount of colleges to admit you by giving them a sizable financial donation, I'm talking in the millions. Now some people will read this and automatically think that this is unfair and wrong, but I believe allowing colleges to admit students on the grounds of financial donations rather than academic and extracurricular merit is necessary in order to increase the quality of life for all current and prospective students and could lead to a change in the way we perceive college admittance. The giant donations received from these types of students can be put to great use, one of these uses is funding scholarships.
That being said what is an athlete going to do once he or she is done, money does not last forever; especially the way professionals spend their money. One of the coolest things I remember about high school is that we had a teacher that had won two super bowls with the Steelers. This man is a prime example of why you should get your education: he graduated from Clemson and after he had his professional career, he ended up having to get another job. Turning down millions is a hard thing to do, I imagine, but it is the future that an athlete must think about before making his or her decision. In the end it comes down to the decision of the athlete: risk it all for money or have a back up
If it was a big trouble I would go to my aunts and uncles, if it was something I did wrong and I got in trouble with my parents I would talk to my friends or cousins. I asked this 15 year old boy what he thought the value and importance of school was and he told me it was important because he had to grow up and make money one day and he had to have good education in order to do that. He learns about science, math, English and etc in
As students we often hear phrases such as: “Education is the “number one” most important thing in your life.” We are often under great pressure from parents, teachers and even also from the government. In recent years, the Danish government has completed new initiatives, which benefit the smart and hard-working student. With grade bonuses for taking several high-level classes and another grade bonus for starting on a higher education within the first two years after graduating high school, the government puts a pressure on the students to educate fast and do it well. This is also the point President Barack Obama wants to make in his “Back to School Event” on Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. In this speech, he tells the students to take responsibility for their education, no matter which social background they have, to give all they can to acquire the necessary skills that can help developing the United States in the future, but does Obama manage to address this message in a way that fits his audience?
It allows me to have the experience of enrichment of different knowledges and help me go forward to the success. Everything started with a big motivation from my parents when I was in High School. Since, I was at 10th grade my parents encourage me the importance to go to college. My father always said “The enrichment of knowledge is worth more than all of the gold in the world”. For him being ignorant is like being blind.
