A Music Concert

Date:18 October, 2012 A Music Concert As roaming the information highway, I found a poster advertising that there would be a Jingteng's concert at the Beijing Workers' Stadium in a couple of weeks. I almost passed out when I saw the tickets were still available. It had long been a dream of mine to see this versatile singer in person. After a series of scrambles for the tickets, eventually when I was holding the ticket in my hands, I felt like I was on top of the world. I could not wait for the show on July 21. My boyfriend and I made a vast and fluorescent poster with "Jingteng" on it, aiming to hold up during the show. Little did we know that in the next a few days, we were about to experience the most memorable but exhausting concert not only because of the marvelous performance but also the heaviest rain in last 61 years in Beijing. The concert was nearly canceled. When I got up, I heard a piece of news from my dad, “There will be heavy rain in the afternoon and evening. The agency even issued an orange rainstorm alert warning. Well, perhaps they will change to red warning later. And the concert…" It is said that Chinese meteorological authorities use a four-tier color-coded weather warning system from "blue" and "yellow" to the more severe "orange" and "red". (Form Xinhua Daily). I was totally freaked out and felt depressed, worrying about any changes because all public activities could be canceled or postponed if the agency issued a red alert, which means we might never get chances to hear the real voice from Jingteng. In the afternoon, it was cool and the sky began to darken for a downpour. However, when the sun was setting, the concert was held as scheduled. I had to say that it was marvelous, presenting a feast for the eye and the ear. It turned out that the concert appealed to people of all ages, even though Jingteng's music blends
