A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE In modern time, people are living well. They have better living conditions and no lack of food but they do not necessarily live healthy lifestyles. People are getting richer and enjoy material comforts. Nowadays, a lot of chemicals such as pesticides and preservatives are used in food farming and production, so we should choose our food carefully. Eating food that have high nutritional value such as vegetables and fruits instead of meat and sugary or fatty food. More people are becoming overweight leading to health problems like heart disease and diabetes because of the food and change in lifestyle. The conveniences of modern facilities and gadgets have caused people to become lazy. We are no longer active in sports and lack exercise. We should try to walk or cycle to our destination rather than riding cars. Go for a jog or walk your dog after dinner for at least 30 minutes. Many people suffer anxiety or depression. Some of them cannot handle challenges or setbacks leading them to suicide. It would be good to take up hobbies such as swimming, gardening, or playing basketball. Listening to music or dancing are also good forms of relaxation. It helps to release tension and stress. Don’t indulge in bad habits such as smoking, drinking alcohol or gambling which can destroy their lives. Make sure to get enough sleep as studies have shown that those who sleep less tend to weight more. Once you have lost your weight thanks to your new lifestyle, work hard to maintain it. Working long hours can stress the body and mind. A healthy lifestyle not only involves in physical health but also mental health.
