The article covers the different stages of pertussis, the ages of people who are normally affected, stages of pertussis, complications, diagnosis, and treatment. Pertussis is making a comeback for some reason and is seen in people quite often. Pertussis is spread through breathing in bacteria that are carried on microscopic water droplets. The article explains treatment of pertussis depends on how bad the case is, the age of each person, and past medical history. However, pertussis can be treated with oral antibiotics to help reduce chances of spreading pertussis for people who do not have a bad case of pertussis. For people who have a bad case of pertussis, treatment may include supplemental oxygen, intravenous or IV fluids, intravenous or IV antibiotics, and steroids. The article also explains how to prevent the spread of pertussis. One of the big ways to prevent the spread of pertussis is to keep the infected person away from anyone who does not have pertussis or is not infected. The article also explains, getting the vaccine for pertussis helps keep people protected from pertussis. However, the article did not explain if a person can get completely rid of pertussis or not once he or she becomes infected with the disease. The article could be seen as a national perspective because the article does mention England and a warning has been made to all general practitioners in England by the Health Protection Agency. However, the article could be seen as a global perspective because the rest of the article is strictly about what pertussis is, the stages of pertussis, compilations of pertussis, diagnosing and treatment of pertussis, and how to prevent the spread of pertussis. I see all of these mentioned parts of the article as a global perspective because pertussis is becoming a problem globally and not just in England. If a person read this article with knowledge of the pertussis problem he or she would know pertussis is not becoming a national problem pertussis is becoming a global
