Introduction
UCLA Medical Center ranked   one of the top five hospitals   in the nation and has designed a drug free program to encourage employees with substance abuse problems to seek treatment, recover, and return to work. UCLA Medical Center have also taken steps and implemented policies and procedures to ensure employees are not taking or using alcohol or drugs during work and non-work hours. Employees are encouraged to use the EAP (employee assistance program) to address personal issues and other services to improve overall health and productivity.
