In a small town in Italy, a young boy by the name of Montressor spent his days looking at the blank walls of his bedroom; and his nights falling asleep to the sound of his parents fighting. After his mom left when he was only eleven Montressor becamse more withdrawn and chose to seclude himself at school and home. At school, Montressor dealt with many bullues, the worst being a boy called Fortunato. Fortunato would continuously turn the other children against him. Montressor would go home everyday and lay in bed for hours just watching the ceiling. His father never asked about school and Montressor never volunteered informtation. He was an introverted teenager who suffered from scoail anxiety due to the years of bullying. Fortunato never let up and things only got worse. Even on his last day of school, all Montressor could think of was being able to live freely without the daily worry of running into Fortunato. Little did he know that just because school was over, Fortunato was not out of his life entirely. My father was never an endearing person; especially not after my mother left. My mother was perfect in my eyes with only one mistake as far as I could tell, leaving. Maybe she did not want me or maybe she just did not want the life of a mother, I will never know for sure. What I did know was how my father cursed under his breath when I questioned him for dinner or help with homework. It did not take me long to figure out that I would be doing things for myself from now on. My father was stern in the way he spoke. He had a deep voice and spoke in quick, forceful tones. He was not endearing or supportive and he did not give me any confirmation that anything I was doing was good or successful. I can recall one time in my entire adolescence when he approached me in my room and asked after what I was working on. He peered around the wooden doorway and
