One of the main messages he is trying to deliver to us is to always weigh what you achieve to what the consequences will be. This especially holds true for Macbeth, as when first contemplating if he should kill Duncan, not once did he think of how he could be punished. Also, when Macbeth first hears the witch’s prophecy of him being a king, he jumps directly to the idea of murder. This kind of thinking is exhibited in Macbeth’s monologue in scene 5 act 5, where he discus’s the uselessness of living, and this attitude towards life made him go mad. This also points to how unintelligent Macbeth really was.
Sees Behind Trees Reading Response The Michael Dorris novel Sees Behind Trees uses a simple story to convey an understanding of the most feared human experience. Death is a word to frighten any person young or old, and this children's book approaches death subtly but masterfully. The book seems to be an explanation for the beauty of death, but I don't remember reading that word once in the novel. Death is described in metaphors such as this one, "Where does a runner run when he has arrived at the only finish line he doesn't want to cross?" (40).
The beginning of the movie starts and he tells his tales of his murders. Now what's the first thing you always assume about a murderer? That they are a bad person and took another person's life, and should pay the harsh penalty for it. In the beginning of the movie, I believe that Shindler was doing what he was doing out of selfishness and for his own gain. Yes he was still risking his life but not for the right reasons. Later in the movie, when he is out horse riding with his mistress, he witnessed the Kraków Ghetto Massacre. He saw the people being chased out of their “homes.” This is also where he saw the little girl in the red coat for the first time. The picture of innocence, walking among the worst evil in the world.
“Katherine has admitted it, confessed.” Katherine’s fear of losing her life motivated her to confess that her and a few others were telepathic. First she had a fear about her abilities being found out but then she had to fear her life if she did not tell the norms what was so different about her and why she was running away. “I’ve killed him Michael. He’s quite dead.” Rosalind’s fears lead her to kill a man, yet she felt so guilty about it, although they tortured many of her kind. She may have felt guilty as she thought the norms would find out that she killed the man and then they would kill her.
Although, Macbeth takes the dagger and kills King Duncan, Lady Macbeth was the one who planned to kill him that night and frame his guards.
