On June 11th 2011, 18 year old, Christian Bjerk was found dead on the sidewalk near his home in North Dakota. The police searched a house where a local house party was held and found a white powdery substance at the residence and not too soon after another teen was found dead by the same white powder. It took the state lab one week to identify the powder, it was a synthetic drug 2C-I-NBOMe, and 2C-C-NBOMe, designer drugs. The drugs are chemicals designed to imitate the high of LSD. The drug is so potent that a few grains the size of salt can be enough to get high. This drug is being marketed as a legal alternative to Marijuana, cocaine, meth heroine and LSD. The synthetic LSD was found to be created in China, sold in bulk online and imported into the US where they are packaged and sold for resale. They are falsely labeled “Research Chemical, Not for human consumption”, to avoid prosecution. The police traced the sale through Adam Budge the teen who melted down the synthetic drug and out it in chocolate for Elijah, and Christian, which killed them.
