Memento Reflection General Psychology Daniel Honas Fort Hays State University This semester in General Psychology we watched the movie Memento. The movie is very confusing, starts at the end and ends at the beginning, repeats parts of the story in different order, is very open to interpretation, and never gives you a definite answer to what is really supposed to be going on. The movie is very choppy and has flashbacks and flash forwards of different events that happened to Lenny. You learn that Lenny is trying to find the man that killed and raped his wife and that caused him to get his condition by smashing his head into a mirror. Every morning when Lenny wakes up, and also several times in the same day, he has to try to figure out what he is doing, what he has done, and what he needs to do next. He tattoos his whole body with notes and clues that help him to find his wife such as the license plate number of the man that killed his wife, the initials of the man, and other clues that help him remember why he can’t remember why he can’t remember what is going on. In the movie there is a woman that is helping Lenny find the man that caused all this and that has found the license plate number and other information on the man. But then later in the movie you find out that she is using Lenny for her own personal gain because of his disability. She tricks him into hitting her then she leaves and he forgets he hit her then she returns and
