M2- Self awareness is the ability to know myself, my abilities, limitation and what is my personality is like. Self awareness is a very important tool to have as it helps me to be conscious of my limits and areas for further development. It is hard to do this with a friend because we may not want the friend to know who we really are. Before we can professionally help others as counsellors, we need to be self aware. This is because of the nature of the role of counsellors.
Being independent does not necessarily mean being completely alone, but supported to do things for themselves. Take time to enable the individuals you support to be independent. Don’t do things for them because it is quicker. Support them to do things that they can do or almost do. Independence makes people feel in control of their lives and gives them a sense of self-worth.
Describe how the cognitive approach has been applied to RET The cognitive approach believes that we are information processors. Our thinking and the way we process and interpret events can affect our behaviour particularly our mood. Therefore rational emotional therapy is linked to the approach because its attempts to change the way an individual interprets and thinks about certain events. Ret was devised by albert ellis in the 1950’s. it tries to tackle mustabatory thinking (the thinking that you must be good at everything and like by everyone) by trying to make the patient think more rationally about situations.
An activity done by extrinsic motivation may not be done because a person enjoys it, it’s often done because they want the end outcome. Working out is a great example, the result of looking better is extrinsic motivation, and the working out is not done because they like how they feel when they workout. Amotivation is the lack of motivation or drive to do something (McDavid, Cox, & Amorose, 2012). Amotivation is when someone does like doing something and feels there is no need to do that
As people get older they lose independence, they become less mobile and aren’t able to do everything for themselves any more. It is important to ensure that they keep as active as they can to ensure they keep their independence for longer. Carers can help this process by offering activities that are enjoyable, safe and have minimal risks. This is important because it helps people enjoy the things that they are able to do, rather than offering them something they will struggle to do with the possibility of injuring themselves. They will also enjoy things that can keep their brains active, such as crosswords, paintings and colouring, keeping their hand eye coordination strong.
So that they don’t have to worry about managing to go out. Steps that could be taken to overcome disabling attitudes and beliefs could be that we need to encourage the person with sensory loss to use the skills they have to try and do some of things they enjoy doing, even if they need a little help. They need access to the right information so that they can get the support they need to live as independently as possible. There are some things you can do to make it easier to communicate with some who has sight loss. Standing face to face with the person and speak clearly, not shouting.
If a client is very logical and analytical and quite direct and scientific in their views i.e. there are no grey areas in what they think, then they are much more likely to respond to an authoritarian type of screed where the client is not given choices, the screed is very to the point and they are based on the client staying in control. The therapist will use direct suggestions in the screed therefore these types of screeds are often very effective for habit changing behaviours. If a client is more creative and imaginative and a caring person then they are more like to respond to a permissive screed using indirect suggestion. It is also important to assess a client’s preferred modality in order to form a screed based around this.
This path is right because it helps people to see that there is freedom from suffering. This path also is known for not being an expression of judgment but as a way of showing accomplishments and the effects of following the right steps. Right Understanding For one to have the right understanding they must know that right and understanding can be broken down into two different categories. The word understanding is mainly focused on the nature of a situation without being able to prove the reason for the nature of a thing. The right portion of the word right understanding is the analysis of a situation that when a person is at a clear mind set and able to speak the truth of a situation.
Being assertive is touch for me because I am so nice. I try my best to not say things that could possibly hurt someone’s feelings even if people speak disrespectfully to me. I have to learn to be more assertive and straight to the point. A good leader is a good communicator. One important tool in communication is assertiveness.
This is also conciliation which is a sophisticated way to calm down a situation, it also shows the women sympathise with this man’s situation but at the same time she does not want to encourage him to become even angrier, so she wants to keep the situation under control. Text c however does not use weak expletives and this may be because the male in not domineering in the conversation unlike text b, and therefore neither character need to calm the other down, they appear to be a lot calmer so probably have no need for weak expletives. Furthermore text b also uses interruptions in the text, this is when the male in the conversation starts to express his point before the woman has finished what she has to say, this is shown in the text b using lines with the text in order so as they are centred together with two lines on either side, for example in the text the woman says “you ask her”, and immediately is interrupted by the male who begins with his sentence
