Line 3 –“Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs” Alliteration and rhyming is used here , the “t” sound is repeated. “Haunting” is an emotive language which show ill- feeling. Line 4-“And towards our distance rest began to trudge”. The word “trudge” is onomatopoeia,it shows how they are moving really sluggishly and tired. The repetition of hard T is alliteration and “a” is assonance.

“Where be these enemies? Capulet! Montague! See what a surge(?) is laid upon your hate That heaven finds means to kills yours joys with love” (V, iii, 291-293) “For there never was a story of more woe, then this of Juliet and her Romeo” (V, iii, 309-310) Tragedy- Reinforced by the death of Mercutio as it is seen by Levin as quite an ironic end, as he has been the satirist- “represents the play moving from Romantic comedy to Romantic tragedy.” Comparing Comedy & Tragedy- Tragedy tends to isolate where comedy bring together, to reveal the uniqueness of individuals rather than what they have in common with others.
| In Dork, Geek, Jew , the author’s description of a pavlova uses many devices to emphases his strong dislike of it, which furthers his assertion of his un-Australian-ness. | hyperbole | “most nauseatingly sweet thing ever invented.” | The devices combine to produce an
Holden says cruse words alot throughout the book. In one chapter Holden says Gods name in vain and says “snovabitch” (Salinger, 28) alot. The book has mature content and some scenes have inappropriate behaviour. Firstly it has foul languages and “slang”, Holden says words like “goddammit, crap, and calling blondes whores” (102). Also when Holden is mad or irritated says God’s name in vain, in some chapters the word “sonuvabitch” comes up sometimes.
Many will wince and wrinkle their noses at this film's sheer, uncompromising immaturity. Perhaps they prefer their satire more middlebrow, more responsible, like that Manchurian Candidate remake. But Team America: World Police is criminally, deplorably funny. The giggling starts at the spectacular opening scene when TAWP take down a bevy of terrorists in Paris - though at the unfortunate expense of destroying the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre - and things more or less continue from there. The explicit puppet sex scene between Gary and Lady Penelope-lookalike Lisa is incredible, in every sense.
Section 1) – what impression do we get of Tom Buchanan in the opening Chapter? With a “hulking” presence and an undeniable masculinity, Tom Buchanan is the obvious foil to the romanticism of Jay Gatsby; his coarse presence, “cruel body” and irresponsible behaviour reflects not only a personal moral lacking but the sense of apathy that for Fitzgerald characterised the directionless and immoral “jazz age’ of the Roaring ‘20’s. While Nick focuses on the “gorgeous rags” and “winning smile” of Gatsby, it is the physical force of Tom that is impressed upon him, leading Nick to comment on the “packs of muscle” and “enormous power”; yet this
Criticisms from supervisors and peers often are met with emotional listening resistance. We hear only the negatives and do not attend to offers of help or ways to improve our performance. We are over stimulated and do not accurately receive messages that could help us grow and develop. Barrier Three: Criticizing Personal Style Rather Than Messages. We often find ourselves criticizing the way a message is presented and ignoring its content or value.
Are you yet living?”. By Benedick referring to Beatrice as Lady Disdain, he is implying to her and those around him that he sees Beatrice as a contemptuous lady meaning she is very scornful and see’s others as beneath her consideration. However, again like in Beatrice’s line when she referred to Benedick as ‘Signor Mountanto’, Benedick is insulting Beatrice in a way which contains some form of respect, this being how he called her ‘Lady’, giving her a level of status. Which are two opposites again, as it contrasts with Disdain which he has then entitled her afterwards. The second part of Benedicks line is ‘Are you yet living?’.
Iago feels that the best way to do so is by manipulating Othello telling him that his wife is cheating on him with Cassio, who Iago coincidently hates as well. Iago reveals, “That thinks men honest that but seem to be so, and will as tenderly be led by the nose as asses are. I have ‘t. it is sengender’d. Hell and night must bring this monstrous birth to the worlds light” (Shakespeare 1.
