Children are also closer to schools, parks, friends and soccer practice. Another advantage of the bigger city is the growing economy has a better job market with higher paying professional positions available. Young adults often choose to live in apartments, that are close to colleges, work, and to nightlife and entertainment catering to their interest, are all in walking distance. You will also find high-end specialty shops that cater to the wealthier spenders, and business professionals. The growing economy makes the cost of living more expensive, the overpriced houses are closer together, so you have very little yard to keep up with.
This means there is a lot of street parking and with there being so many junctions coming off Frodingham road, there is a lot of traffic. As a result of this it’s common for there to be accidents involving vehicles. This is a negative for Frodingham Road as people avoid using it as they aren’t confident in their safety which means they are losing out actually seeing the different things the road has to offer. On the road there is a club called the Britannia. During the day this is used as a restaurant, which welcomes everybody from children to older people.
Here are a few examples I found of the above inequalities in and around City Road. The Mackintosh Centre was a large private family home at one point but is now used as a sports club. The people that come to the sports club aren’t local people says John Cooksley(“ Making Social lives on City Road ,scene 2) They are mainly come from different areas of the city. The local people find the building is very large and daunting and its also gated off . The local people feel that its not for them as they assume that it is a private club and it will be very expensive.
Due to this, the number of pharmacists in the state of New York more than tripled during the Prohibition era. For people unable to get a hold of medicinal whiskey and such, there were illegal ways to drink during Prohibition. Organized crime began to flourish in large cities where crime bosses, such as Al Capone, had noticed the incredibly high demand for alcohol and the extremely limited access for the average citizen. This presented lucrative opportunities for gangsters to take over the import, manufacture, and distribution of liquor. Al Capone, and many other criminal groups during this time, were able to build their criminal empires mainly on profits from illegal
On the other hand there that middle class of poor that knows nothing about the system or doesn’t have the resources to get a good lawyer they are screwed completely ruin your life and affecting some people around you. Several contemporary concerns impacting criminal justice professionals are, stress, finances, the economy, their family and friends, health and job security. I say stress because so many things can stress a person out this line of work. It can be the hours of the job, the clients, the court cases, etc. Finances can be a major worry especially if your budget is tight and so is your money.
Many just need the right opportunities shown to them to change their whole perspective on life. Many of these people had no choice but to become homeless. Economic problems such as being laid off work, or the rise in the cost of housing had lead people to live on the streets. People with mental illnesses also become homeless quite often. These people are incapable of handling the stress of living on their own.
Each of the mention problems go hand-in-hand because of the lack of funds, jails are not able to upgrade to a bigger facility. This, in turn, causes overcrowding for the numerous numbers of offenders entering jail. In addition with the lack of funds to build bigger facilities,
Immigration was actually a cause for the need of such things. People moved to large cities such as Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York. This caused more children to be on the streets more often. Most of them weren’t supervised as their parents couldn’t afford child care services. Since many of them didn’t have much of a family or supervision, they would often commit theft and other acts of vandalism.
The laws because of advancing technology has caused more criminals to be brought to justice. State prisons are overcrowded because they hold the most dangerous criminals. Overcrowding of prisons posses a safety issue for inmates and correctional officers. The overcrowding of prisons does not allow proper rehabilitation of inmates so that they can become law abiding members of society. It is also a health concern for everyone in the prison because of the sewage and water system becoming
The criminals mindset can not be changed at times. 66% are convicted of serious crimes and 52% come back due to violations or other serious crimes. This shows that criminals are not learning right from wrong. That is what most people think of the prisoners who go back, they are still terrible people but this is not totally true. Without family they have no motive to stay out, they have nowhere to go.
