There are only two reasons that caseworkers were not aware of the conditions in the Jackson home but for the most part the caseworkers were aware. The children were home schooled instead of going to public school. So in that instance they were not able to receive information from the schools about the children. The second reason could have been that the caseworkers never talked or interacted with the foster children to ask them questions concerning their living conditions.
He was educated at home so he had no real idea of what life was like outside of his family which may of created an ignorance to what was going on around him. Furthermore he was rather aimless and lacking in motivation in early life so he wouldn't of cared what was going on much as he wouldn't of had the drive to do anything about it. However his upbringing did help a little as when he went to secondary school, a school called Gorton that was private and had a fee, he was motivated by his headmaster who inspired him and urged him to help people less fortunate than himself and enter public service. This was helpful as his headmaster was inspiring. He went to Harvard university which gave him his independence and taught him how to handle things on his own.

Yes, boys are bad at school; I can say this because I’m a boy and I see everything first hand, my peers are less and less interested in school and college, they often talk about just either dropping out of high school and getting a job, graduating and just work and not go to college or simply join the military. If they fall back on their work they don’t get any special treatment and thus are not helped, they are simply left to fail. I am not one of those boys, mostly because my parents wouldn’t stand for it and no matter how much they get on my nerves when it comes to school, I understand why they push me. They simply don’t want their oldest son ending up in a dead-end job for the rest of his life. Based on the results of the research finding on zero tolerance in the home in regards to parenting the approach conflicts with the developmental needs of adolescences. Frederick Douglass was a man of using his mind. He took the opportunity to be tutored by Mrs. auld . at the age of 7 she didn’t tutor him anymore, he still thought of a way to learn how to learn through the little white boys he gave some of his food to. The fact that at 12 years old he read a book on his own without anyone telling him and was against for him or any slave for that matter. He read it, it wasn’t anything positive bit it still was something that he could not unlearn and was a rude awakening to his situation, but he didn’t give up.
Over the decades there has been an ongoing debate to change the United States education system in guiding students on a superior future. With the establishment of the No Child Left Behind Act, the importance to score higher on the standardized test has resulted in making budget cut to have more academic courses. When the current U.S. administration made budget cut decisions, the first thing to go is the art, music, and theater classes. The school administration does not realize that the arts are the aspect in people's lives and improves students mentality. A student that is involved in the arts are at low at risk to develop a mental disorder or helps release their frustration in a positive creative way.

Once a student misses out on one lesson, he/she will seemingly have difficulties working on new material. Students need to fully comprehend all the information from each year to succeed. Social promotions hold students up to a certain standard upon entering the next grade. The pressure to grip the next set of information can be overwhelming, especially to those who struggled to interpret the lessons prior to.
